I THINK THAT WALDORF IS THE ONLY EDUCATION THAT REALLY PREPARES FOR THE REAL WORLD, SINCE IS A HANDS ON EDUCATION: WHEN YOU GRADUATE YOU HAVE ENOUGH TOOLS TO SUPPORT YOURSELF: YOU CAN WORK WITH WOOD, WITH METALS, WITH STONE, ITH CLOTH,, WITH YARN, WITH PAINT. YPU CAN COOK, AND BAKE, MASONING, ETC. AND OBVIOUSLY THE INTECTUAL STUFF, YOU CAN ALWAY BE A TEACHER TO YOUNGER CHILDREN ; YOU CAN EASILY TEACH MATH, HISTORY,, WRITING. WHAT ELSE DOES ANY ONE WANT FROM SCHOOL?

I SUPPONSE IT HAS TO BE "MODERNIZES". I AM SURE THAT IN WALDORF SCHOOLS WE CAN ACHIEVE THE SAME VALUES WITH THE SAME MOVEMENTS BUT MAYBE A DIFERENT MUSIC?

Oh wow! I went to school in California and what they teach you at those schools is how to be a criminal. If you’re poor, that’s pretty much what you learn. They don’t even care if you can read or write I knew people that were 15 1617 years old and they could not read or write. They never ever even considered learning a foreign language. You have what appears to be something maybe it’s called ungrateful or maybe you just don’t realize how lucky you were. I would do anything to get my grandchildren into the Waldorf schools but just for like the kindergarten it’s $30,000 a year. I don’t even make $30,000 a year and you have been able to go to 13 years that school is incredible. Maybe they wanted you to learn German so that you could read the literature without having to depend on a translator. I think that learning German is extremely useful and I’m surprised at your comments. I just think that you are extremely extremely blessed and you’re not expressing that

Thanks for the video! I have a question; Is it correct that you don't learn to read or write in your native language until the age of 7. And from the age of 7 when they start teaching reading and writing you also get 2 foreign languages at the same time? Thanks!

It’s so weird to see all these KZbin algo - Ahriman- rithm suggestions all titled ‘things I hate about Waldorf school and such’ and nothing about the benefits. My parents knew nothing about such schools and I was sent to one of the local schools. I was taught to read from 2 and in French classes from 5. I was always compared with other kids because of the separation with intelligent kids- maintaining the stupidification of people though rank and useless information. Here I am with only one language, poor maths and barely any practical skills and here’s this bro with three languages not taught to read and write until his later years presenting videos in a second language! I guess it’s true that you don’t know what you don’t know.

Great video and great points BUT can I just say that a kid with ADHD could ABSOLUTELY draw that on one school day, IF art and geometry happened to be special interestS and they went into hyper focus. The drawing is AWESOME btw

If you say that some students feel they don't learn any real skills related to the 'real' world, then what about those students who wish to follow university after Steiner? I mean to say that if someone wants to learn some specific subject they always can, and certainly will when their person has been matured in the Steiner school. Do you agree? I hope this makes sense.

I do agree with you about Eurythmy. We had several Eurythmy teachers. They never lasted. We were terrible to them. By the time I was in the 8th grade, the Eurythmy teacher had given up on teaching us and switched to just keeping use occupied. Instead we were taught how to juggle, and like 50 levels of patty cake. Now near 20 years later I can still juggle so that’s cool. Looking back I don’t hate that I learned eurythmy. But I don’t consciously use any of it. It’s probably still I’m brain to some extent. Maybe it’s given me unknown hidden strengths. Idk

Your English ability is impressive -- especially in view that it seems to be a fourth? language for you..... One grammar usage faux-pas detected in your monologue: The Past Tense for the verb, "TEACH" is "taught" rather than "teached."

The two languages are intended to develop speech - the Romance language shapes the soft palette and the other ‘Germanic’ or ‘guttural’ language is to develop the hard palette. Eurythmy among other things, is the experience of speech through movement and music. Eurythmy works with the sound vibrations that exist unseen for speech and music. It also develops a healthy sense of spacial relationships. Knitting in 1st Grade is intended to develop symmetry concurrent with the developing hemispheres that are integrating. Handwork such as knitting, crochet and so forth helps to lay down neuropaths in the brain - which leads to and supports logical thinking, cognitive functions and the development of executive skills.

Why is the soft pallette and the hard pallette necessary to develop? And eurythmy is one of the cultiest, most useless things I've ever experienced. And all of this is based on the claims of Steiner who said he was clairvoyant and a bunch of people just believe him.

Oh a curious thing I thought of .. is I’ve lived in Hawaii most of my life and Hula and all Polynesian dances tell stories without words. They didn’t write down things they would dance it. Maybe that’s the concept of Eurythmy… however it’s very different because Polynesians have amazing meaning and energy within these dances so I’m guessing that’s what this Eurythmy lacks.

I got to a steiner school. Tbh when I was in grade 8 I got a lot of homework. We didn't have a lot of freedom either. When it started, we had a lot of freedom and theatrical plays etc(we still have a time capsule buried in school and no one knows). The principal is really good and kind hearted but the new teachers aren't. They want it their way and we don't have the freedom now. It's all academics now

the study of two languages could be made more useful but the benefit of many things in WS is brain and body and soul development not necessarily something you can see as a direct outcome. some things are geared to effect you as an elderly person....and the author here is very young. as a fish in the waldorf water, it would be impossible to see the benefits in your personality and soul/spirit..... the roots of languages are important to consider. there are latin roots and non latin root languages... in other words, the outcomes are not geared toward your immediate enjoyment. like knitting, it's for brain development. not for you to make a doll you love. the doll is a wonderful by product of the activity of learning the very difficult skill of knitting.

Toinen vinkki olis siihen masennukseen. Mun mielestä siihen autta se että get the focus off yourself. Paras tapa tehä se on auttaa muita. Be of service...Siitä tulee hyvä mieli ja uskon ja tunnen että se auttaa siihen.
