hahaha! too bad firefighters think they're so special. if they were reasonable and realistic, people would actually respect them. they just do stuff people do every day for free, except they get taxpayer money to do it. it's not heroic at that point. it's just a job. time to clue in, firebois. <3

8th ID in Wiesbaden, then off to the "Rock" when WAB unit was shut down. I was D 3/36 INF at Ayers Kaserne from 1984 to 1987 after my time in the 82nd Airborne. Service in Cold War Deutschland was unique and life changing. I would never trade my time and the great people I spent it with. Mein Herz fur Deutschland...

I was stationed in Wurzburg at Emery Barracks from March 1970 to November 1972. I was with B Company, 3rd S&T, 3rd Inf Division. They did a remodel on our billets in late 1971 to early 1972. While they were doing that, they moved us over to Hindenburg and we stayed there until they finished the remodel. This video brings back so many memories. You had to have been there to understand how crazy it was. It was pretty wild when I was there and it looks like it didn't change much from then until you were there. They were just bringing in the Gama Goats about the time I was leaving.

My dad was 1st Sgt. of B co. 3rd S&T from '84-86. He had also been a truck driver in the same company before I was born on another tour. I loved living there and visiting the barracks. The troops would give me cokes and quarters for the video games to stay on top's son's good side.. lmao!

Alpha Co 63-65, no drugs whatsoever, no alcohol or beer in the barracks and no moustaches. Aparently a totally different army then. Most of us were drafted and spent all our free time traveling Europe or drinking beer at Ocktoberfest.

It's sad to see Leighton and Hindenburg now. Schweinfurt is closed now for the most part. Had some great times there! Seen some killer concerts at Carl Diem Halle! Where did the time go?

Nice modeling! My dad was the Bn XO there in '73-'75 when he became the 3rd ID SIGO. I went to many movies there and my dad was the organizer of many Volksmarches with bus loads of soldiers and families skittering out across Germany with the IVV. He also played on the battalion rugby team. When I was stationed in Ansbach in 2002, I went back up there and the 123rd Signal Battalion entrance sign was there, but all beaten up. Would have loved to have gotten it for dad, but I didn't have anyway to transport it back to Ansbach. I worked at the Emery Barracks Gym in '77 before returning Stateside.

machia0705 that was pretty much me when I first joined. From spring through September/August we do live burn training every Monday night. First drill I went to they put me on the engine and I had no idea what I was doing. They told me to get they hydrant and I had no idea what to do because I wasn’t shown. I was walking around the fire truck for like nearly ten minutes trying to figure out while they all laughed at me. Pretty sure it was planned before hand. When I finally managed to get the supply line off the hose I didn’t wrap it around the hydrant and I had a fun time chasing it behind the truck. Later on they made me climb the ladder to the roof where I freaked out and nearly passed out. But I was trained by some awesome people and now I’m way ahead of where I was. Thanks to some aggressive training, taking a bunch of classes three years later now I just got voted in as a lieutenant. Something I wasn’t ready for but gotta step up and do what’s best for my department in hopes of making myself and everyone else better.

What was the cause of the loss of pressure from the hydrant? It sucks when you lose a house due to the fact of no water or water pressure.
