So far, I haven't seen anyone acknowledge that most PVC pipe is NOT UV-resistant, meaning these things will just rot in the sun.....

Does this help, given the fact that the fence is quite short. Can cat just jump over the fence?
@wraith31311 ай бұрын
This is a great idea but I would caution anybody from doing this for a bigger dog. Those L-brackets holding the roller up will likely bend under any moderate amount of pressure

Any suggestions on how to do this is you don’t have a top rail? It’s just freestanding chain link

Is there a way to attach the wire to something other than metal L brackets? We have a 6ft high fence and drilling holes on top of that may be a bit of a struggle. Are there any post caps that would do the trick?

Nice try, but I can easily see cats figuring out to just jump on the connection points.
@stacystinson Жыл бұрын
Make a much stronger cable mount point out of triangle piece of metal and just string the cable the length of the fence through each piece of angle. Add the pipe as you go and pull the cable super tight at the end. No need to cut the cable at each section.

1:52 I think this is an ingenious way to deal with this particular problem of animals entering or exiting over this type of fence. Kudos not only for the invention but the well done video.
@dcwatashi6 ай бұрын
This is not his invention. This is called a coyote roller, and didn’t even show the product in use. I don’t understand these people who put up these videos and can’t be bothered to show us the actual install in action.

Thank u for this vid using a chain link fence all others were for wood or Vinyl
@dcwatashi6 ай бұрын
Because you are not going to have the same success rate with a chain-link fence all they have to do is get their paws in there for traction or you’re going to have to make that roller a lot wider

How did he drill a hole in the top bar of the fence? I tried it on mine and it didn't work at all. What's the trick? Wish that part of the video was in slow motion with more details. Thanks.
@michaeldriver48092 жыл бұрын
I assume the problem you have is the drill wandering off where you want to drill the tube? if so, you need to get a punch and punch a mark where you want the centre of the hole to be. Also use a small drill bit for the first hole, then you can easily enlarge with a larger drill bit. Make sure you are using drill bits suitable for steel, and helps to dab a little oil on the bit for drilling steel.

What about the gate? I found this dog 2 and 1/2 weeks ago on the side of the road. And she continues to jump everything. And she continues to tear everything up she's left alone. I don't know what to do with her I'm about ready to have to bring her to the Humane Society. And she already begged me not to. She told me I was her third owner. But I don't know how to help her anymore

No need to use cable . With a wooden or a smaller pvc tube with end cap fits into two bigger PVC pipes will work the same and at much more cheaper price. Only two bigger pipes will roll while the smaller ones hold the pipe in place.
