Can you be a travel tech for a few months and then go back to working for a hospital or a doctor's office? Thinking of traveling for a bit if i can get in to xray school but im also going to have a family. Its going to be a decision that im going to have to personally weigh the different pros and cons before doing.

Hi 👋 Ferdie To be honest I got in the X-ray mode as of when I was in general X-ray I was always sent to (OR) and we always had to have the hat on so my hair wasn’t an issue but now that I’m in Cat Scan (CT) I do need to start 😁

What is the likelihood of getting a job right after graduation from a rad tech program? I’m thinking about going back and am very interested in the field. Granted I’m in my 40s and starting completely over from a different field, so a bit nervous about being able to land something right away afterwards. Lol.

Hey thanks for the video! Is there a time limit as to when you can take the LMRT exam like there is with the full ARRT exam after you completed training at an accredited program? I did my training in the Army but wasted time away and now I'm running out. But I am passionate about becoming a Radiological Technician. If I'm not able to complete my exam by January, would I still be able to get an LMRT certification even if I completed my accredited program about 9 years ago?

In 3 years you’re allowed to take the exam 3x if you fail all 3x then you would have to repeat the program. Now it’s been 9 years I don’t think that’s good anymore. You would have to start over. Only Texas makes you go through LMRT first then you can continue to becoming a full RT. I live in FLORIDA & here we have some schools that you can finish becoming Full RT in 16 months! I don’t recommend it because it’s a private school which means expensive but it’s an option. Hope this helped 🙏🏽

I honestly need more of your words of encouragement in this career that I am trying to go into. I am worried because I was hoping to pass all of assignments with all A's and instead I have three B's and two A's and I failed my first lab practical even though I studied. 😮💨 I will just keep going, it is only week five but, I will keep going.

LOL … I was that student in High School who barely graduated & my very first test in the program I got a 56% ! I tried my best to convince myself on the way home that day to quit & just go work in the field as laborer as my parents did but I woke up the next morning and went back to school the following test I got a 76% (which is passing) from that point on it changed my life forever because I realized with hard work and dedication I can make things happen! I have ever since, moral of the story is .. no matter how hard things seem …. YOU GOT THIS‼️😤

This is my first semester returning to college to start my prerequisites to try and get into Radiology. Basic Anatomy and Physiology is definitely difficult. I didn't pass my first lab patricaial even though I got a B on my first exam today. I have two A's on my first two quizzes and three B's now. Everyone else is getting straight up A's. What am I doing wrong? I am studying and I am watching KZbin videos. 😵💫 I am in week five for my prerequisites. It is a lot to retain but, I am not giving up. 💪🏻

My friend is a rad tech in Riverside, CA and makes about $75 an hr. Choc Hospital in Orange recently offered him a job as well and was willing to pay about the same. He really loves what he does and he's a reason why I will join the field :)

Thank you for your honest break down of pros and cons. I have just been accepted into a rad tech program at a local hospital, but I have a few weeks to respond to accept or decline my offer. What really infuriates me is that in this country we all just accepted the fact that being understaffed is somehow ok, why is it being normalized? I am so sick of it! And it is not only in the healthcare field - it is everywhere! The harder you work, the more work they give you! Also, your first con was my biggest fear because I have two herniations in my L-S spine. They are not too bad, as they do not really give me problems, unless I am overworking and on my feet for a very long time. THIS is the biggest seed of doubt I am dealing with right now..I am not sure what to do...I have been teaching for a while and I hate it!

It’s a good and bad thing: Good - We will always have a job Bad- Overworked There’s not many jobs that are easy or not overworked. But for your back problems unfortunately Radiology isn’t for you because you will be pushing, pulling a lot some days more than others 👀
