But found a nice 106 GTI running 146bhp. I said I won't get another toy, but can't help it haha. Got my family car🤣

@@jaybradley3765 my missus has the family car and car pool for work so don’t need a daily anymore. The good thing with the gti’s now is they are only going to go up in value but with the age they are starting to rust if not treated/looked after so be careful when buying one.

It’s all legal mate as long as you have no airbag/eml lights on and the harnesses are not fitted incorrectly.

Hi Jay, tough one really. I would say 106 Gti as my preference. Not to say that it’s the better car I just don’t think ep3’s are lookers. They have a great engine but would have a k20 powered 106 😊

I did not time it with the cams fitted but if you go through my other videos there is a o-60mph sprint without the cams when it was running 170bhp. With the cams it was 191bhp.

Passion_for cars sorry for the delay in replying. It was a custom aas exhaust with decat. It wasn’t that loud tbh. It had uprated cat cams, induction exhaust and a map by Ktec mate

oliver bhoyroo They are SPA formula mirrors in grp. Had to make custom baseplate out of sheet ali spray the Ali sheet Matt black then riveted them on. If you follow me on insta there is close up pictures on there. tommy_g666

Ascars thanks man, it was only 130bhp with just induction and exhaust system including manifold. It was quite lightweight though but for the low power these produce compared to modern cars they still fly on the back rounds and on track.

Blane Blackshaw it wasn’t far off the pace there very similar but I got rid of a lot of weight which made a big difference. This video was done from the previous owner as I was driving it home. I changed a lot whilst I owned it. Massively miss it tbf but the new owner won’t sell it 😩

Gibbo205 hi mate, it’s a tough one. The 106 was a awesome car but under powered on the straights. But when things do go wrong there crazy cheap to repair. The clios again are awesome cars but are more expensive. 172 Cup is the one to go for as they have most of the bits removed already and have a wider track. Hope this helps 👍🏻

Thank you for that insight, so would you say the 106 GTi was the more fun and engaging car to drive on a b-road then? Have been looking at maybe either getting an old not so great 106 GTi PH1 for not so much money, or cough up the extra money for a mint 106 GTi PH2, but your talking 5-6k and the same money also buys a Clio 182 Trophy. Just want something that is a proper hot hatch, light, raw and oodles of fun. All the new stuff has got too big and has rubbish boring turbocharged motors.

Gibbo205 It defiantly has mate. It’s a very hard one and I’m currently looking myself for a clio or a 106 again. But I Ian wanting a black 106 non sunroof model like my old one as a project for track days etc. Trouble with the 106’s now is the inner wings and the boot floor rot. Hence why there isn’t many left now. I personally would go with a 106 gti as they are great cars and will appreciate in value as well which is a bonus.

Thanks buddy, yep is why I like the idea of a 106 GTI, you only have to look at what mint 205 GTI's sell for now! If I go 106 GTi, I assume the performance figures are a bit wrong? As 106 GTI has 0-60 of 8.7s and the Saxo VTS is like 7.6s, yet both the same car, was the Peugeot under-rated or did Citroen lie? Lastly easy to extract a bit more power from, say 140ish?

InframePerformance • Thermoformed will fit better as they curve like the standard glass so fit slightly better. Make sure you get the uv coated ones as well. Plastics4performance are really good suppliers.

InframePerformance • no worries. Yeah defiantly get sliders. In summer and on track it would get really hot inside without the slider. You could get a roof scoop but it’s easier with sliders. You can make a Perspex piece that sits in the slider rail that’s removable so it acts lock a lock so people can’t open it from the outside.

InframePerformance • No you wouldn’t want them to go down and up as it will scratch the hell out of them on the rubber scraper seals. The need to be fixed. Obviously the benefit to them is they shed weight so you want to remove as much as possible from the doors. Mine were attached to the runner but the motor was removed and the door loom stripped. The metal was removed on the interior panel also to remove more weight.

Todd Miller hi mate it’s on the bar that angles 45 degrees to the top rear struts. Mounted with a cage mount then angled straight.

TheBobes hi mate they fit straight on without spacers. No arch modifications were made. They fit the 1.2 wings as well before I fitted the 172 wings. With the 172 wings I had to get 20mm spacers to flush them to the arch.
