All the other videos I watched did a lackluster job of differentiating the ligaments and their respective sides. Thank you for this clear and concise explanation. I knew this was correct, but for some reason the other sources were leading me to believe the ulnar and radial collateral ligaments attached on the same side of the elbow.

Thank you very much where are the medial and lateral meniscus on this model? Thanks
@pierrefernandes1870
@pierrefernandes1870 3 ай бұрын
remembering that the meniscus is the fibrocartilaginous pad found between the femur & tibia, the medial meniscus will be found closer to the tibial (medial) collateral ligament. the lateral meniscus will be found closer to the fibular (lateral) collateral ligament.

What is the best excercise to grow all these muscles
@pierrefernandes1870
@pierrefernandes1870 3 ай бұрын
resistance-based (aka strength training) exercises will grow these muscles best. You can look up online for which specific exercises are needed to work the lower leg muscles, but as a general progressive overload training principle, you need to perform: - training the muscle group at least 2x week - 8-12 reps per set. - 3-6 sets per muscle group exercise. - 3-4 exercises targeting that specific muscle group. Of course diet is critical to promote growth, so make sure you’re eating plenty of protein, in a calorie surplus and consuming a well-balanced diet with snacks in moderation.

physiotherapists are the best profession to go to in order to obtain optimal injury rehabilitation for musculoskeletal problems. That’s their specialty.

@@pierrefernandes1870 not necessarily. They are often just young people who have taken kinesiology courses. It’s better to find a true MD that specializes in the ankle for example. Most physio give you exercises that can be often found online. And now with GPT 4.o launched…

I’ve been walking 2.2 miles every day with a ten pound dumbbell in each hand, and the main muscle that has been getting sore is the front-most muscles on the outsides of my tibias and I was curious what they were called. Now I know, thanks!

At 1.41 you have drawn the interspinous ligaments the wrong way round. Old anatomy books also make this mistake.
@pierrefernandes1870
@pierrefernandes1870 3 ай бұрын
At 1:41, he draw the position of the supraspinous ligament exactly correct, and subsequently also drew the correct position of the interspinous ligament. Remember that “supra-“ means ‘above’ or ‘on’, so the supraspinous ligament would be on the spinous process. “inter-“ means ‘between’, and so the interspinous ligament would appear between each spinous process.

if you print the parts names in your video with arrows would be a much clearer picture.
@pierrefernandes1870

But then the printed name parts with arrows would cover so much of the model, it would actually look not only unappealing but also have a reverse effect to what you’re trying to acheive.

If you are experiencing pain in your muscle, you should get it checked out by a medical doctor or physiotherapist.

Interesting to see where the posterior tibial actually starts so I can massage it. It is very painful in my ankle, but stretching it and massaging close to the back of the knee helps a lot

The fossas of the scapula are supraspinous, infraspinous and subscapular fossa. Can they also be called supraspinatus, infraspinatus and subscapularis fossas as explained in the video?
@pierrefernandes1870
@pierrefernandes1870 3 ай бұрын
Actually no they cannot. Those fossas should specifically be called only “Subscapular fossa”, “supraspinous fossa”, “infraspinous fossa”. The video presentator made a mistake and confused the names of the muscles “supraspinatus” and “infraspinatus” with those 2 posterior fossas.
