I think this video ascribes responsibility too much to the USA for USSR foreign policy. Stalin betrayed the Allies, violating agreement made at Potsdam and Yalta, by undermining free and fair elections in Soviet-occupied Eastern Europe. The USA was arguably naive and slow to respond, with the Truman Doctrine, Marshall Plan, and North Atlantic Treaty coming too late to prevent unpopular Communist takeovers of Hungary, Czechoslovakia, and other victims.

France and Italy were Satellite states? The only ones I've learnt about are Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia and East Germany.

This History channel is very useful and I would recommend this to anyone studying GCSE History like me right now. I'm doing Edexcel, and these condensed, concise videos makes me understand the topic much more easily!
Amazing how the ICBM looks like a tinier version of Saturn 5.....funny that.

he first documented landing on Australia by a European was in 1606. The Dutch explorer Willem Janszoon landed on the western side of Cape York Peninsula and charted about 300 km of coastline.

Hartog Plate or Dirk Hartog's Plate is either of two pewter plates, although primarily the first, which were left on Dirk Hartog Island during a period of European exploration of the western coast of Australia prior to European settlement there. The first plate, left in 1616 by Dutch explorer Dirk Hartog, is the oldest-known artifact of European exploration in Australia still in existence.

29th April???? 19th of April sighting Point Hicks 28th of April ( citation needed) anchored near Thirroul for fresh water . Dropped anchor in Kamay - Botany Bay later on 29th April Plus these dates don't account for crossing of the international day line months previously

Half of this is right and half of it is wrong. So it just depends on which half you do believe. Like that the result of the British election was decided after and during the Potsdam conference and not before. Both British leaders were present because it was not known who would be Prime Minister after the conference was completed

One error: the "Big Three" were actually the Big Four: David Lloyd George (UK), Woodrow Wilson (US), Georges Clemenceau (France) and Vittorio Orlando (Italy). That's why you see four people in the photos.
@historyblast9907 Жыл бұрын
Yes but Vittorio went home less than half way through because he realised Italy weren't getting half of what he promised his electorate he would get them. He fainted and had to be carried out. The big three lasted the whole time through.

The second front was opened in 1944 when Russians already won the biggest battles of the Great Patriotic war. USSR used that for the victory over NAZI.
