What part of Socal are you in? The other day my drivers side rear window went all the way down fine and only would roll up about 70% of the way . I initially assumed it was the regulator, fuse , or car battery . Any ideas?

Hi guys an off topic question here but I can't find much answers. On the 210 there is a 38 pin socket for the OBD, I have a standard 16 pin OBD scanner but I don't have a 38 pin adapter, just wondering if I can I use any adapter or does it have to be brand specific? I have a Foxwell NT530 and I have looked to see if I can get a Foxwell adapter but I can't find one online in my country so only options are to buy from conspicuous websites, from the US which I'm not keen on doing or from Germany on ebay but is over $100!! and also possibly is not compatible with the NT530. Also not even sure if the NT530 is compatible with a '99 210. What do you recommend I do? Please help... 😩

If your scanner doesn’t have a multiplexer or other interface adapter to read the modules through the 38 pin connector then the adaptor is of no use

I don’t have a scanner like that yet. I would save my money and buy a Mercedes star computer. It does so much more than anything else

Man I wish I knew tan to black swapping my wagon interior was going to be this hard before I bought my wagon and swapped the motor. haha. I have had to buy two parts cars to get all the interior parts and I am still missing some parts.

Sacco Benzes were typical cars for pensioners and other old farts. Aside from good reliability, they had nothing gowing for them. They all drove like boats, the engines were weak, sitting one felt more like sitting on a living room couch than in a car. W126, W124 and W201 have to be the most overrated Mercs ever. Modern Benzes look sleek, sharp and sporty. Never understood the hate for current Mercedes products.

There’s a tiny vent hole on the thermostat that needs to be placed at the highest point.

Good luck with your continued wagon search. I own a 01 silver and gray. Had it 5 years. I live in Socal too. Took me years to find the right one.l for me. It was filthy, tires were petrified but it was 2 owner and had a slight dent in rear door and a small formation of tailgate rust bubble but nowhere else. I’ll never sell it. I’m amazed how hard they are to find now in decent shape. Good luck! Can’t wait to see what you find.

It's a shame 210s are rusting even in california. My 01 E430 has some small rust around the body from rock chips, and a rusted fender that I should swap out with a used one. I think it's worth having it painted to preserve the car, with 140k miles it seems to have a lot of life left.

So interesting to hear someone say they must have black interior - black interior is what I'm always trying to dodge. Taste is personal! One weird thing to look out for is that the tail lights are working properly - they can fuse/melt inside and they cost a fortune from Mercedes and there are very few at the wreckers. There was a near-perfect 2002 for sale locally I'm kicking myself for not buying, but I couldn't quite justify two old almost identical wagons living in the inner-city. Good luck hunting one down!

Hi. Good observation regarding the taillights. Believe it or not they are fairly straightforward to repair. Purchase a “bulb carrier” from Mercedes and solder it in. My 16 year old is a pretty curious kid and after getting the bulb carrier and a trip to harbor freight for a cheapie soldering gun it was fixed. Over the course of the last 20+ years at least three original circuit boards burned out (across 4 different 210 cars). I bet someone on KZbin produced a DIY video on how to perform this repair. I searched for a 300CE/E320 for over 6 months and finally found one in North Las Vegas when i was visiting my sister in Utah. Similar spec as yours. Imperial red on beige. And it was meant to be. Waiting for the right one to come along is a trick of patience. I don't regret being patient. I regret buying "other" cars whan i knew my mind was set on something else. Patience pays off in the long run.
