I was 7 years old when I picked strawberries, more berries ended up on my shirt than in the box. Some ended up in my belly. The boxes were flat wooden things mounted on strange wooden “burros”. Afterwards the berries were taken to packaging plants or canneries which was another place of employment. So, workers are now doing the work of picking and packaging in one go. They should be paid double! Excellent videos. Kudos! Do growers report income to state and federal entities so that workers will have Social Security? What about Unemployment Insurance, Disability Insurance, Medical insurance. Growers have exploited workers for centuries, leading their workers to believe that they are in strawberry heaven, the more they pick the more they make, so they run, and tire themselves for pennies. What happens in 30 to 40 years? A comfortable retirement? A Pension? Does work stop after 87 degrees or some agreed upon temperature. Do the berries have pesticides? In all the videos I have never seen them take a one hour lunch break, why not? Do they get Family Leave, Insurance, Housing? Will someone show me a picture of the ACTUAL paycheck? What do they get paid for the months when there are strawberries? Growers are laughing all the way to their mansions for nascent videographers romanticizing the life of a strawberry picker. In what other industry do workers RUN while working, pant and grope for their next breath, ruin their backs, get illnesses, spinal cord injuries. Do they have any protections? The legislature is bought and paid for, on the whole, by the agricultural lobby. And still this is called UN-SKILLED labor. PIECE WORK should be outlawed and workers paid the same wage they can make at their highest peak, without them killing themselves. Do they get UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE in the off season? Cuantas caja coje en el dia ? mi record esta en 100 cajas de 5 kg cada una , sin contar con las cajas de industria que seria otras 50 cajas , total de kilo seria 750 kg al dia , saludos
