A light colored paracord like white would’ve been easier to see for contrast against the black object.

For dogs 40-100 degrees normal right? Then how we adress left or right shift if the mea is in the negative side like -80 or -100 degrees? Can we define exact points for dogs and cats which degree stays on the left or right shift?

Are there specific types of foods I should avoid for my dog with cushings? He's been on a fresh food low carb diet (Raised Right brand, turkey) - but I had been giving him a topper of sardine a couple times a week - until I recently saw something about sardines being bad. Any advice is appreciated

I found a few years ago that a double or treble (extra wraps) strangle is great for the side piece on your specs. Who needs to buy spec retainers? A few pence worth of paracord does the job. And there's cord left over for other tasks. When using a double or treble strangle for my specs I hardly ever finish off with extra 'square throws' as you call them. By the way have you ever considered the related constrictor knot for castration, I would imagine the double (knot 1152 in the Ashley Book of Knots) or a treble wrapped version would work well.

Which knot has more security in castration strangled knot or miller knot ?
@kseniia7949 Жыл бұрын
I think Miller's is more safe. Cause this one looks like modified Miller's with difference that the threads are crossed.

How do you read adhesions between the displaced organs? My dog has Diaphragmatic hernia and doctors are not operating with the idea of adhesions between the organs. She is 5 yrs and Female. She has liver, stomach spleen and intestines in her chest.

We are sorry to hear about your dog. This channel is for educational material for veterinarians not consultation advice. Each case is unique and your veterinarian is the best one to provide information and recommendations on the treatment of animals.

May I know the explanation why Modified Miller's knot is not recommended?
@obivet2 жыл бұрын
The modified knot may loosen in a way that a true Miller's knot will not. Therefore, it is not recommended for risk of the suture slipping off.

FYI, many veterinary colleges now teach the Modified Millers knot as standard knot for ovarian pedicles and stumps.

Very clear on creating the knot! However, it’s better to show it done with a surgical needle holder as this is how it is actually done in practice. Unless you are a LA veterinarian doing it on a bull or a horse on farm, it’s unlikely you would be doing it with your fingers only!

Thanks for the note Daniel! We will be sure to consider that for future examples!
