Major major talent who kept FUNNY GIRL running two years post Streisand..why on earth wasnt a musical written for her? She is in the league with Karen Morrow!!!!! as obscene choices by producers and fragility and treachery of the business

I had the pleasure of meeting Luigi a few times at his studio. He always called me "Texas". He was such a humble man I failed to realize at the time his vast experience.

"Berenice" has some history in Southern literature, I believe, but her real value is in the tradition of the "wise fool" or the ancient seer who was wise but never believed.

It's a little sad that she cannot remember anyone named Sam (who sent her the flowers) Sam Cohn was Elaine's agent, for crying out loud.

Yea, whatever. God bless him for his life experience. No critique there. Artistically seen, no.That was not art. I saw it. I too was there then at that time. Mattox was the artist. and the genius. His legasy unfortunately has been terribly documented by good meaning amatures .

FYI: The man at 19:58 is John Lahr, who’s the son of Bert Lahr, the guy who played the Cowardly Lion. And he’s a great writer as well.

I watched this clip and then looked her up and was amazed she was born and raised in Oklahoma - she sounds and acts more like a hardened tough New Yorker then an Okie - may she RIP

ELAINE was Wonderful..truly Charismatic. BUT, she "sucked the air Out" of Every Room she entered. It could be Tiresome and, ultimately, BORING.

Where are Kay Cole, Ronnie Dennis, Rick Mason, the original Bebe (before Nancy Lane), Clive Clerk (he played Larry Fuller, correct?), Michael Serrecchia (sp?) et al? We’re they not at that original gathering too? Or, did they come into the workshops later?

Even the staff at her building (Carlyle Hotel) were enamoured with Elaine. Trust me, people don't hug and kiss their guests unless they're really a part of the family.

I'm lucky enough to have seen Marian in a number of plays and even chatted with her on the street just walking by and saying hello. She was luminous and lovely and the sweetest spirit. She supported her fellow actors with the truest loyalty and enthusiasm. I found her remarkable.

Watching this. She's in SFA. This threw me back to 1975. I was employed at SFA 1975 to 1980. I had several positions there. I started off on the fifth floor. At that time, it was the woman's haute couture salons. Broadway actresses would show up with just a fur coat on to purchase a dress for an event. Of course it was the colder months when this occurred.
