Hi ,I've got a Tag Carerra WAR 201c on a leather strap ,would the Aquaracer be a better watch ?
@watchandrew12 сағат бұрын
Depends on how old the Carrera is really?? I’d say the new AquaRacers are top notch
@timvinall480212 сағат бұрын
@ it's a couple of years old was just over £3k new
@markplayford5836Күн бұрын
Nahhhh yours if far nicer. The power reserve indicator and the stupid 3 date window ruin the dial. As you can tell I’m not one for complications! On a positive note COSC certification is always worth having as is the extended warranty. Sorry to say much as though I like rubber straps, I just don’t think it suits this watch. 😐

That’s fair enough Mark,, thanks for the feedback. You make some point I definitely agree with. Will it be too top heavy on the bracelet though?

3 day date window is useful when the minute hand is at the 15 (which would normally cover up the date) or if the date is in transition in the middle of the night.

Clockwork synergy also makes single pass rubber NATOs that work great. They thin and flexible, and most importantly cheap. Didn't want to spend Erika's Original or Zealande cash for a strap. $140 for a rubber single pass strap is straight thievery, no matter how "nice" it is. Honestly, I usually just use the Tactical Frog copy of the OEM velcro strap, or Blu Shark's tudor-style single pass NATOs which are very high quality. They all dry very quickly, to the point that I don't see the need for a rubber strap when taking the watch in water.

It's sad that watches that look good cost over 1k+. AMZWATCH watches are REALLY well made, and it just shows how a brand name on a watch can make its price 10x higher. I understand that if you look under a microscope, you'll find the difference, but just how many of you really inspect a watch at that level when you see someone with a watch?
@ellardgrudzinski9 күн бұрын

I have the blue FXD and I found CNS watch bands from Sweden online. They do a "paratrooper" strap similar to the Erika's with stainless buckle etc. but in a full range of colours and at a fraction of the cost. I have 4 of them and the quality and durability is amazing. Check em out!
@markplayford58369 күн бұрын
Hmm it was always going to be a problem with the fixed bars. Have you tried ‘Cordova’ I think it’s called, these are really thin and strong. I take them as backups on holiday plus they are dirt cheap too. Result!

try and get the Nick Mankey Hook Strap FBV3 Classic (Fixed Bar Compatible) - Stainless Steel - Elastic Watch Band this you can avoid the underpass of the strap as well. There are few other bands that do similar designs, happy hunting mate!

I just bought the black FXD last week after a lot of debating between it, the 39 or the original Pelagos. Ultimately, I just love everything about the FXD - but I was worried I’d miss a bracelet. I like the nylon strap, and the rubber is a great option, but I just got in the rubber single pass from Zealande (black & olive) that you have and they are actually a little more flexible but still have that same woven texture of the OG rubber. Great to see you back on YT! Cheers!

the straps looks like they have the same issue. Maybe they make a smaller Velcro strap?
@watchandrew10 күн бұрын
They have similar issues with the fact their both rubber and don’t particularly lend themselves well to bending round fixed lugs - but 100% the Zealande are a better choice than the original in my opinion 👍
@michaeledwardlenzi10 күн бұрын
It seems like the issue partially stems from the fact that the lug profile is straight with little curve down. It doesn't hug the contour of your wrist. Just an observation from the cheap seats.😊

I really like the Tudor FXD Andrew & bought it intending to wear it permanently on the fabric strap. I’ve never seen such cheap Velcro on any item - let alone a 3K+ watch. It doesn’t fasten securely & the last few mm always sticks out. As I prefer OEM & never replace with aftermarket I returned it for a refund the next day. TUDOR emphasise in their advertising that they have worked with French haute couture ribbon-maker Julien Faure to create superlative fabric straps woven on 19th Century French looms that carry on a centuries-long tradition of craftsmanship. I’ve got better quality Velcro on my £100 North Face jacket!
@watchandrew10 күн бұрын
Yeah I totally get what you are saying pal,, I really do. If your gonna produce a watch that only comes on a certain type of strap - you’d better make them straps are beyond questioning and look/feel the business.
