I really really wanna claim that if you knew the lyrics you saw it differently, sure Rema mixes english in a way and the music can appeal worldwide, but mostly this album is Edo / Yoruba; with Rema it's mainly Edo actually.. and every harmonize you hear, every word, every orchestra, they are absolutely saying A LOT, If you can somehow find a translate video.. You will appreciate it more. anyway awesome review!
@TomekReacts9 күн бұрын
That’s facts! Lyrics usually play a big part for me, I often see comments telling me I should stop looking for content in the lyrics 😭 but I feel like I cannot see the whole picture without them. So, most of the time, my appreciation for an album goes up exponentially after reviewing it. This one is no exception but rather the perfect example! I love Heis hahaha also songs like Ozeba which I think I didn’t like in my initial reaction, I love now lol one of my favorite albums last year fs

You said you want to listen to more brazilian artists, I have some recomendations: - Ludmilla if you want something similar to Anitta, she's also a major funk/pop superstar. She has an amazing voice and also makes a lot of R&B has a huge side project called Numanice focused on pagode, a brazilian genre very similar to samba. - Pabllo Vittar is a drag queen who is one of the biggest and most interesting pop brazilian artists right now, she mixes various brazilian genres and always has an eye for what's going on in our underground scene, always collaborating with some of our most inventive artists. - DJ Ramemes is a DJ and music producer who's expanding and stretching baile funk to the most unimaginable, crazy, interesting directions, his album "Sem Limites" has been acclaimed by Anthony Fantano and he has a song with JPEG Mafia on his latest LP. - Ana Frango Elétrico is a great listen if you want something different than funk, they're an artist who is very influenced by brazilian music from the 70's and is great at translating it to a more modern and palatable sound, I really feel like you'd enjoy "Me Chama de Gato Que Sou Sua", their latest album. A lot of the songs are in english, and there's some more meaning and importance to the lyrics.

Asa, Qing Madi, and Teledelase are 3 Nigerian artists even most Nigerians don’t know about. They are steadily getting more popular due to their talent. For singles, I’d recommend Asa “Grateful” Qing Madi “Ole” and Teledelase “Eledumare” And for albums “Asa” by Asa “Anikulapo rise of the spectre(a nollywood movie album which she gained recognition for) and Qing Madi deluxe.

My bro, after WIZKID dropped the made in Lagos album and the MORE LOVE LESS EGO album we his fans requested for his old style of singing, we wanted more of the Afro music, not just Afropop or R&B he did on those two albums, so he came up with MORAYO album, giving us a pure afrobeat songs that’s why it was kind of hard for you to flow with some track on the album.. he only gave the western fans few tracks such as BREAK ME DOWN, TIME, POMH, BAD FOR YOU & SLOW so they won’t be left out😁 he speaks more of his language on the rest of the tracks.. trying to connect back with his day one fans… BAD FOR YOU ft Jazmine Sullivan has been ranked as the best song in 2024 by EBONY!! My best tracks on the album is SLOW, BAD FOR YOU, PRAY, BREAK ME DOWN, A MILLION BLESSINGS, POMH & DONT CARE!!
