The one thing about this Amplifier that you should be well aware of before you buy one. Besides the fact that you want all original parts and certainly the transformer. You have to understand that this amp sounds completely different with each brand of tubes you put in it. Which can be a great thing and an annoying thing at the same time. Because if you find a tube match that you like you have to continually find that same brand. But if you Want a different sound You can just buy different tubes. So don't be discouraged when you check it out It doesn't sound right because it can if you just put new tubes in it.

Those are pretty much beaucoups easier to move than the 4X12. I am thinking of rewiring some of my 4X10s at 32 Ohms so that I can run pairs at 16 Ohms. Some of the antique Voxes in my array insist that I stick with the best impedance. One of them actually has a pair of jacks labeled to be hooked up to (a pair of) 32 Ohm cabinets.

Hello Andrew, just had a thought. In the first pre amp tube which is usually 12AX7 try a 5751 tube. The 12 is a 100 gain and the 5751 is a 70 gain. 5751 clean up the amp and also headroom. Its a mod without soldering...... you will probaby even like it . Let me know....

Also takes pedals (TS9) really well….for the price I got it ($125), never need to trade this….the overdrive channel is weird, and loud…. best to turn gain all the way down and increase volume to 7-9, and adjust guitar volume- dynamic.

I own one and love it! Covers lots of ground, plus a really good reverb. For sure, as others have said, the clean channel kicks butt all by itself. I find myself using it more and more, and just using the drive channel for certain songs. It may not be as "pure" as a 2204/JCM, but it covers more ground.

Well if you see on the back there's many different Outlets. there's switched and unswitched And different delay times. The longer the delay the more the power conditioning. so they're basically separate circuits. The two different plugs are basically just the two different power sources for the two sides of the unit.

I'm always looking for the 2x12 version. I have a 1989 Marshall JCM800 4010 combo, it's bare bones, single channel. I actually was lucky enough to have Zakk Wylde sign mine back in 2007. My only complaint with mine was it came with a Celeston Wolverine speaker, which was a collaboration with Jensen and Celeston from what I found. However, the top end of that speaker will rip your head off lol. Use to give me headaches. So a few years ago I swapped in an Eminence DV-77 Mick Thompson speaker, absolutely amazing in this amp! I always run the volume around 3, so it's loud. I run a Radial JD7 Injector rack unit, it allows me to run the Marshall with my Carvin X-50B with 4x12 cab and a Peavey stereo chorus 2x12 combo and Peavey Bandit, both teal stripe series. 4 amps is loud, but the frequency spread and stereo sound is amazing, absolutely love it, and the Marshall definitely adds so much to the overall tone!

You're wrong. They're not the exact same speaker. The EVH speaker has a smaller voice coil making it a tad brighter.
@Andrew850 Жыл бұрын
celestion.com/product/heritage-series-g12m/ The link above is the speaker that is very comparable if not exactly the same as the EVH speaker. When I was doing my research before I bought my Evh they were the same speaker and they're based on the 1960s design, which is the speaker that Eddie has used pretty much used his whole career. these speakers are incredibly hard to find right now and if you look at the specs of this speaker it's rated at 15 ohm and supposedly you can use it with a 8 ohm speaker cap. But the ones I was looking at the time was 8 ohm, and you can't even find them anymore.
@Andrew850 Жыл бұрын
I would also add, that if you actually do any research on Eddie's sound, he's using 2 celestion speakers and 2 JBL Speakers in his 4x4 cabinet. He gets all his high sparkly sound from those jbl,s.
