By the time we were married almost 40 years he was still bound up in the pain of the past which affected me greatly. As a last ditch effort, I attended a Carmelite day of reflection. I told God if I didn’t hear from him I would have to leave my husband. Very clearly, in the silence of my heart I heard “Tom is your cross. And I do believe you said for better or worse “. Immediately the sadness and depression left! When I was able to embrace that fact, we were healed! We celebrated our 60th anniversary this year. Praise be Jesus Christ! Never give up! God bless you for staying true to your vocation in the midst of the storm! You are an example to all of us!
