I am having this problema now. What is in it for the bees?
@ouroffbeatlife5 ай бұрын
Bees like a higher sugar level than hummingbirds, so offering them a separate sugar water area can keep them away from the feeders. We slowly moved the bee feeder further from the hummingbirds' feeder to help them all stay separated.
@roseannagross50945 ай бұрын
I have tried everything be solutions. Everything move the hummingbirds to be fat. They don’t drink the apple juice. They rather have the feed and my poor hummingbirds don’t know which way to go.
@ouroffbeatlife5 ай бұрын
Have you tried using a higher concentration of sugar water? We did 1:4 for the hummingbirds but put 1:1 in the bee feeder. Bees like a higher sugar level than hummingbirds, so offering them a separate sugar water area can keep them away from the feeders. We slowly moved the bee feeder further from the hummingbirds' feeder to help them all stay separated.

Sorry you feel that way. We've been unschooling to various degrees for 5 years now and our son has learned coding and other "high level" skills not taught in many schools. He's also learning Japanese, all by his own choice. So we know it works, but it's certainly not for everyone. :-)

i only watched part of this video. an hour is way to long to discuss this topic. it is very important but maybe these folks are looking for YT analytics than anything else. i have lived expat for 17yrs. 9yrs working in the middle east and living in asia. then retired in 2016 and living in south america and asia. IF you are going on vacation for a month or so or this 6 month digital nomad OK. that is one thing. IF you are retired or go more than a year remember this of saftey wing: very IMPORTANT they do not do direct billing. i would not have Expat insurance that does not. maybe for 6 months or less. Allianz and Cigna have direct billing. go to bangkok, manila, bogata or mexico city and city dozens of hospitals. that slip and fall and knee surgery for $5,000? depending on your policy. mine is 10% up to $2000 out of pocket. hand them the card and walk out a few days later paying $500 of the that $5000 bill. serious injury: how would you like to be laying in the hospital seeing the daily bill add up and it adds to your stress? each morning you are more stressed and trying to get better. a 65yoa colleage/US citizen living in the phillipines. goes to singapore for a conference. chest pains. singapore hospitals are not inexpensive like PI or thailand. 3 stents. 2 nights ICU and 4 nights private room per his insurance. $14,000 which is cheap comared to the US. from the moment he got to the ER Allianz said "we pay everything up to 1millionUSD". his deductible was like $750 and felt good going home OK. sure some can shell out $5,000 or $7,500 and now the "hope to get remburment' process. you broke your hand/arm now type at the computer with one hand.
@ouroffbeatlife5 ай бұрын
You raise some valid points about how insurance works. We actually don't really worry about analytics because we want to make helpful content for humans, and we felt an hour wasn't enough to cover everything so there'll be more insurance-related videos coming down the pipe. Brodi worked in insurance for over a decade before we became digital nomads. Many insurance companies don't direct bill, so Safety Wing isn't alone in that practice. They came through solidly for several of our traveling friends who needed repatriation flights when borders closed in 2020, so despite their (common) billing practice we know they are a legit company that offers quality coverage. That said, different folks need different types of insurance, so while we like and use Safety Wing - as do several of our friends - it's not the best fit for everyone. People should certainly do their own research before choosing any insurance plan for their travel needs.

This is great - we just started 1.5 months ago. Curious as to how do you find these places to stay within budget? Do you have to stay there for a few months in order to get apartments, homes, villas at the rate of $600 - $700 USD? And second question, where is the funnest place y'all spent Christmas? Thanks!
@ouroffbeatlife6 ай бұрын
We stay in budget for accomodation by booking a place for a at least a month. Rates are generally discounted for longer stays like that. We also tend to avoid super touristy places, favoring central Mexico over the coasts for example, because anywhere Americans or Canadians frequent (in Latin America) tend to be a lot pricier. For Christmas, we've spent it in Malaysia, the US, Colombia, and Antarctica the last 4 years. They were all pretty amazing in their own way but Antarctica was epic! We have a series of shorts from Dec 2023/Jan 2024 that shows more about that, and we're working on some videos. There's also a couple blog posts on our website about it!

How did you like Uruguay? Ive heard its kinda boring and not many people?
@ouroffbeatlife6 ай бұрын
Uraguay was nice but it wasn't our favorite. It's the priciest country in South America, so we weren't inclined to spend a ton of time there. :-) The countryside is pretty, but Montevideo was not. At least not the places we visited the 2x we were there.
