Never leave your ground rod sticking that far above the ground level. If you have ever seen an animal (including humans ) impaled on one, you'd understand. That is asking for disaster. If you must leave it sticking up for some reason, use rebar rod protector at the minimum.,

Ive yet to cone accross a video on KZbin that states the recommended joules. 95% of the solar panels kits are 0.25 joules where the plug in ones start at 1-9 joules so have can 0.25 joules even be effective??? 😒

I used poly wire with yellow insulators. I thread this wire through the insulators but on most of them I wrapped the wire a few times around on each insulator to make sure the wire was secure. My question is, is wrapping the wire in this manner going to be a problem for the current to travel? Thank you

how does moving this frequently compare to netting?

Security Theater: Definition: Practices that appear to enhance security but do little to improve it. Examples: Airport security (shoe removal, liquid limits), visible police presence (patrols, random checks), and superficial ID checks. Characteristics: Symbolic actions that reassure without real security, divert resources from effective measures, and create an illusion of safety. Criticism: Ineffective, leading to complacency and false security; costly with minimal benefits; causes public stress and inconvenience. Purpose and Impact: Reassures the public, deters minor threats, and demonstrates action and control. Conclusion: Calms fears but lacks effectiveness, wasting resources and misleading the public. Control Theories: Government Control: Increased surveillance, conditioning public to accept control. Economic Gain: Benefits security firms, boosts security sector, increases costs supporting World Economic Forum (WEF) supports reducing meat production Political Motives: Manipulates fear to control public, distracts from other issues. Social Engineering: Conditions behavior, normalizes surveillance. False Sense of Security: Prevents demand for real measures, maintains order through perceived safety.

That is why I was told to alternate ground hot so you don't rely on the hooves grounding, doesn't matter the hoof they will touch ground and hot and feel the full voltage

Can you not run a continuous wire for multiple strand heights instead of using a jumper from wire to wire on single pulls? Make first pull then with same wire drop down to next insulator and continue ?

How do you convert the joules on a unit to volts? I have pigs to contain and concerned that I don't have enough joules. Also will be using a piece of re bar as a grounding rod, provided I can actually get it into the ground deep enough.

@axleboris8126
@axleboris8126 2 жыл бұрын
3ft of ground rod per joule so a 15J energizer @ 3 ft per joule = 45ft of rod in the ground that would be if you are using a 1/2" diameter ground rod. This would be 8 x 6ft 1/2" ground rods. When using the Gallagher Kiwiah ground rods which is a 6" galvanized sheet formed into a W shape 7ft long as few a 3 maybe enought because of the greater surface area of this style of ground spike which is why these are recommend for larger output energizers. The ground rods are also an antenna array for capturing the current back across the ground to close the circuit when an animal touches the electric fence wire, this is why the ground rods are spaced 10ft apart the larger the array the better especially for larger energizers covering larger distances.

I am looking to hold three cows on a small 3 acre pasture for a month or so each year while I work their main pasture and let the ground have a break. What posts would you recommend I use to run maybe 3 hot wires on?
@goprocowgirl6446

The taller ones. Put wood or steel t-posts on corners or any sharp curves for support.

Have one wire at about your knee and hip height and if you're really concerned about it, you could put one more a foot or so above that. Once they learn to respect the hot wire you can usually get away with just one wire on low stress areas.

Moving our poultry netting is a pain as it invariably gets tangled up. I like the way you did it and will try that in a few days to see if it works for me too!

Best line of the video: "Make sure they are well educated to the electric fence" You never want the animal to get hurt but that sure is a nice way to put it.
