Even such small waves look like a potentially dangerous phenomenon. I surfed many big wind-driven waves but I think I’ll be scared even to enter into water towards these waves.

Почему обычные приливы и отливы называют - цунами!? Мне не понятно ! Цунами- когда волна по 5 метров ,когда корабли переворачивает,мощь неимоверная,а такие приливчики на любой воде есть!

That was a 40m+ wave in Japan. Something similar happened yesterday from a volcano eruption but not nearly as big, should be about comparable waves in Hawaii, almost 3m in Japan and 1.5m in California. Tonga's internet is cut off, i hope everyone is okay.

The wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord 🙏 Romans 6:23 You have sinned against God by breaking his laws and commands and a just God will demand a punishment for evil but because he is rich in mercies and full of grace he has offered you a chance out of eternal damnation through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ the lamb who was slain to cover the sin of the world , repent and turn from your sins and realize your transgressions go to Jesus and beg for his forgiveness he will not turn you away ..

I am here in N. Ca in the SF Bay Area and I was on the 17th floor of our high rise building when I saw the waves. But hours before Inwas standing outside the building and moment after the quake hit in Japan our flag poles began shaking hard then I get an alert on my phone about the quake. Crazy. 3 people died in Ca because they went out to the water after they were advised not too. Hard headed people. Curiosity kills. Not laughing at this either. Some people are so curious that they never see the dangers that lie directly in front of then our around them. Tomorrow is not promised nor is today.

First off I know this was in 2011 but why would anyone just stand out there if a Surge is coming or a Tsunami? Totally Stupid. Also that was not anything big. Now ad big as that wave looked down a ways I just knew that a big wave was coming in hard but you have some waves. Then you say your beach is gone. Really!! Not even close. Too dramatic.... But on another note I am glad you and everyone else was not seriously impacted by a big tsunami. Use wisdom and stay away from the water when a tsunami is coming in.

People who say this is a normal beach/ocean behavior or that it is not dangerous are probably the ones caught off guard when there's a tsunami. Noticing the small changes is key when it comes to the ocean

No way in the world that I would be standing there. There's no telling how large the wave would actually be when it comes in. Gonna end up being one of those missing people.
