I've gotten mine done in Salt Lake at Koi! The pain for me personally was a 7/10. But after that, we had to adjust the sizing, I have a slight deviated nose so the piercer had to go through the piercing again, not to re-pierce it, but there was a small skin flap that was in the way pushing on the jewelry so it sat weird. Even after going through it the second time, it barely hurt. The 7/10 pain was from the initial piercing. My sweet spot is also more at the tip, more forward in my nose, rather than closer to my face. Everyone's sweet spot is different, so I decided to get a larger piercing so it's more noticeable but it's as noticeable as your piercing Jade! Doesn't hang as low, even with a 16gauge(thickness of jewelry), 9/16'' or 14mm(diameter size of jewelry) it sits pretty well! I got the septum piercing 3 days ago today, and got sick the next day....I'm on my 3rd day of healing with a cold and runny, blocked nose. What I've been doing is not touching it whatsoever. I only touched it once to readjust it slightly so it doesn't heal with the jewelry lopsided. When i sneeze, i do so from my throat / mouth instead of the 'atchoo' through the nose so my sneezes sound like mini coughs so it doesn't cause pressure in the nose or irritate it as much. I have not been using tissues. I've had q-tips as my best friend, and I'm already through half a box. My piercer told me that since we live in a dry state, saline solution might irritate the piercing and isn't 100% necessary. What she recommended is cupping your hands and blowing bubbles in the water to clean it. I've cleaned it in the shower in the mornings, and in the evenings I clean a Tupperware and have warm water in it and blow bubbles in that water. Afterwards I go back with a q-tip and clean around up in there. If I get a lot of mucus, I'll 'blow my nose' over the sink since I don't want to put any pressure / irritate the piercing in any way like you would with a tissue, and just blow as much mucus out and then I clean my nose with the q-tips and make sure there's no mucus around the jewelry/piercing. I've only had pain the first 4hrs of getting it which was a 4/10 type of pain soo yeah, that's my current experience with a septum ;w; Clean twice a day to not over irritate it, let it do its thing, don't touch it, clean around it, blow them buubbles and thats it \o/

I have a pretty screwed up septum (deviated from a broken nose) and my piercer was in there for a while, and even brought in a colleague to figure the best way to do it. She eventually got the angle and it turned out great! So there's hope for most according to my piercer.

For people hiding it from your parents… sounds like you’re under 18 so what piercer is doing this? If I tell my kid no and they forget to flip it, I am suing the shop and the kid will forget what a phone even is. So kids under 18, if you find someone doing it without your parent there, think about the trouble the piercer will get into… I get my piercings at a tattoo shop that is so strict about age, they asked to see MY license and I have an almost 16yr old…! -Signed, A Parent

14g is actually big. 16g is average. And 18g is smaller. So you actually got the large gauge, unless you were wrong about the size.

Do you know if hiding a septum using an 8 mm horseshoe works on most people? I saw another youtuber doing a tutorial on how to flip a septum and she was able to flip a 9 and 10mm but not an 8 mm. I'm thinking about getting a septum piercing myself but I just hope it is able to flip up easily.

I have since graduated with Bachelor of Nursing in the hopes to become a cosmetic injector, but have found it so difficult to find opportunities to enter the field.
