Listening to all these interviews, it sounds like we had absolute idiots running our war.

Skyraider was awesome. Had the B-29's Wright R-3350 Duplex Cyclone engine in it. What a bad ass plane with super power!

Thanks Dave. I was a crew chief at Korat, 469th, before you got there. You guys were a great inspiration. I went to flight school on the GI bill and spent my life in the air always thinking of the great Thud drivers that I had met!

You guys that kept this great bird going were fantastic, you loved her as much as we did. i I have a picture of two of the kids sending me off on a mission and the rain was coming down in buckets as it could at times. it is a very special picture to me and I salute you for making her fly. Well Dave ,small world. I was at Nellis from February to July 1967. I was pilot for United on the 747 making many visits to Narita in the 90s retiring in 2006 . Also it looks like you are a QB? I’m in the North Cascades hanger. Burrow! I hope old age or let’s call it “advanced middle age “ is treating you well. Thanks again.

What is the operational cost of this Cat? Fuel burn just at cruise has to be something around 200 gallons per hour.

The Germans realized that and installed switches unther the wingtips. So when the V1 was tipped, it exploded. So this game was very dangerous

Bob Hoover was an artist, a poet of the sky and one of most extraordinary and gifted pilots that has ever lived. Words do not do his flying abilities justice, he has to be seen to be believed.

Thanks for the upload. If I ever make it to visit the USA, this festival is a must for me. Appart from the huge range of warbirds on show. It’s strange to find years later, pilots from opposing sides meet up and share stories, often becoming friends, or at least meeting each other. Maybe there’s some solace there given the wretched nature of war.
