Oh I love this! I only heard today of the death of the Queen of Mbira. I was privileged to meet her on three occasions, she even came up to my house in central Victoria when visiting Australia. I love this story, but I can't understand. It seems like it's about birds. It reminds me of a Guinean story about birds. Can anyone please translate?

@@manna2202 yes, I went to a workshop. I had paid etc but they did not say it was advanced so it was a total waste of time and money. She suggested I come have a private lesson with her. So I went to where she was staying for my private lesson but she was more interested in something else she needed there, which I had to search for and get for her, so missed out on the lesson. Then when she heard I had big calabash she really wanted one as she was just playing mbira without it. So she came all the way up to my place in the country but my calabash were cut for making kora or bolon and they are cut in half the other way for mbira. I had brought them from Guinea to Australia, but I also had seeds so I have her seeds. So yes, I met her at workshop then hung out with her a couple more times.

What an adventure it turned out to be, all the ups and downs. Sorry about not having your lesson. I will post the lyrics this week. Do you own a mbira?
