Do you have to go through that pre show video and all? I always try to skip that in the Saturn V building. When you've seen it once, that's more than enough.

you don't have to go though the pre show to see the shuttle, but it does have a good reveal

Or the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton. They got CCT1 and made a nice exhibit with it, but it doesn’t draw the visitors like an actual shuttle would. At least they got the Memphis Belle B-17 for all to see.

That was the line to get into the preshow theater. It's a timed event so that can limit how many people can get into the show.

Nope that's the main door to get in. There is a restroom on the left. The people you saw where coming from there.

@@scotts685well had Challenger not been destroyed Endeavour wouldn’t have been built so Challenger probably would’ve wound up in LA. I like to envision Columbia in the spot Atlantis is and Atlantis at Space center Houston. Such a shame what happened to both vehicles and crews. They were both way more unique than the surviving 3 shuttles. Would’ve loved to have seen Columbia in person

Saw Atlantis do a piggy-backed fly-over for the folks at the JSC in Las Cruces in June of '09, saw it launch on what was meant to be its final mission in May '10 (assigned to one more) & saw it displayed in Mar '16. Thanks for posting this & letting me relive the experience! It's a beautiful exhibit & a definite must-see!

Atlantis has been my favorite orbiter. 7 year old me was pretty bummed that 132 was supposed to be it’s last flight. A little over a year later, an 8 year old was very happy that his favorite shuttle would fly for the final flight of the program.
