Its time for uncouverism. It's a bit disappointing to see him so attached to this as if it really is something unique.

This is my message to mr. Steve Gorman: 1.- All my respect and admiration for your job all this years with The Black Crowes. Thanks a lot!!! 2.- You are the "skin" and part of the Soul of The Black Crowes. 3.- I believe a lot of people want and need (almost I do) to see you come back into the band... If that is possible... But if is not... What a shame!!!

I hope Steve and the brothers sit down for a mature conversation.I am almost sure Steve will jam with the band again and it will be for fun this time.

Print is well on its way out. Postmedia is now asking print customers to switch to e-paper digital subscription as they are planning to shut down print facilities in a cost cutting effort. No date has been set on the full switchover, but once there are enough customers switched to digital, the printing plants will begin to shut down in all of the major dailies. (Ottawa, London, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, etc..)
Let's give a big shoutout to Brook Ward who was Dan's post game at the rink guy. What a great combo. Dan picked some great talent to join him. He is a great talent scout too!

Sorry, but pathetic. He pronounces "News" as "Nooze" at least a couple of times. Ya 99.9% won't catch it, but that shouldn't happen.

Calgary needs a strong oldies station!!! Bring back 66 CFR...MISS their oldies format. R.I.P., 66 CFR...1984-2006. :'( <3

Incidentally, that last song ("We Built This City" by Starship) was also the last one played by CFTR Toronto before introducing that station's all-news format in 1993.

I was a very avid listener of 66 CFR for over a decade when growing up. I don't recall songs from after about 1979 being on the playlist, and had never heard "We Built This City" on 66 CFR outside of this clip (as it certainly isn't consistent with an oldies format). I believe that "We Built This City" was played here only because it was a special occasion? 3 other songs sampled in this clip ("Who Put the Bomp" "Baby Love" and "Fun, Fun Fun") were all part of 66 CFR's regular play list and song I had heard many times on the station. Interestingly the clip of "A Day in the Life" by the Beatles here was I believe the only time I have every heard that song on 66 CFR, as I'm pretty certain it wasn't part of the stations regular playlist - perhaps the drug references in the song kept it from being played by 66 CFR?

Very informative and entertaining view of what Vancouver was like back in the early to mid 70's. Thanks for posting and for the shout outs of a couple of favourite DJ's who were also involved with the much needed alternative music station ,Coast 800/1040, in the 90's and who later had a show til about 2009(?) at CiTR called Son Of Nite Dreems/Radio Radio.

When Vancouver's CKWX 1130 went from country to all-news in 1996, management did something similar on the air.
