Volcanoes don’t work on timelines.” He added, “They erupt when there is enough eruptible magma beneath the surface, and pressure to cause that magma to ascend.” “Neither condition is in place at Yellowstone right now,” he said. “It’s all about that magma supply.” But what about this morning’s explosion? Is Yellowstone going to erupt? This morning’s eruption was found to have been a hydrothermal explosion.
