Just an update on this. The LEDs eventually will burn out and change colors. I own 4 of these and every single one does it. This product kinda sucks honestly in real use.

What’s the best set up I’m wanting to program lights to synch with my live acoustic guitar set?

Never knew this existed. Im a fan of manual buttons and not 100% reliance on computer. Currently i use a midi controller which is a bit cheaper, and to some extent more options. The benefit of this is the form factor, (rack mount) and the remote control and overall simplicity (others can use). i do live events at various venues, this is more appropriate for in house use like churches, bowling alleys etc.. The one thing i don't like is having to reset it to upload or change programming which would not be good at all for live performances or dj applications . Also if its installed permanently in a rack with various other devices "disconnecting" the Computer and "Plugging in" there power would be a nightmare. im sure it could be "rigged" but even there is a level of awkwardness.

I have a problem on the rack1024: every scene I activate pressing the button, turn off itself after half an hour. What could be? Thanks!!

Can anyone assist on mapping the fader sliders for the fixture speed and dimmer built in faders? Those faders don’t give the option to map directly and I’m not sure what I’m missing.

For people wondering. If you wanted Flash when it's off or on, ShowExpress would need to code that into the software to send separate channel information to the midi controller for when the button is off/on. For instance when the button is on and you want it to flash you would have Channel set to 8-15 and your color in Data On, and when the button is off Channel set to 1-7 (7 being the brightest) and the color you want in Data Off. Question is will they update it? They just rolled out an update a few weeks ago. And there's a lot more affordable RBG controllers coming into the market. So it would be a good feature to add.

FYI - The Akai Manual has the MIDI Channels offset by 1 (0-15 corresponds to 1-16 in ShowXpress), so maximum brightness is on ShowXpress MIDI Channel 7 (not 6).

HELP...I am using the DMX 1024 Dongle = 2 UNIVERSES !! When importing a SAVED 'show' onto another computer,...it only IMPORTs the '1' UNIVERSE, out of 1 + 2 !! ~ Is that a FLAW or am I mistaken somewhere in loading , when transfering the perfectly saved 'SHOW' ??

If your pads are still dim/not lighting up, make sure the Data 1 on midi out selection cloned the data selection on midi in. Mine did not, and after I corrected it and had the proper setting on midi out channel, then it worked.

Has anyone had the problem of the mk2 disconnecting? I have ran a couple shows with it now and after a couple minutes the mk2 will just disconnect and I would have to unplug and plug back in to get connection but then it repeats. (I have used different cables and laptops but still same scenario)
