This was going to be my wedding song, it perfectly describes what my relationship was like, in the end I didn't get married, but I still think it's the perfect song for that moment in my life... Beautiful cover guys!!

I didn’t even like this song when it was on the charts but I’ve watched this video over and over just to watch Josh play guitar. I especially like the lick right after Skylar sings his last line “ but only a time or two” well done and I even like the song now.😊

Man , I like all of your comments . That was awesome. Your voice has the tone of that sweet little Eastman. Very organically done . As if you were in every moment . That's your gift easily. I am currently learning this tune in open D capo 2. I came across it yesterday for the first time and dropped everything including the tuning to learn it. Bob Dylan from my generation shook the world with his honesty and poetry . I'm so happy to have heard this song. It strikes a chord with me too. A simple twist of fate gets me here.

What is that mic your using? Is that the Eastman 20 / rosewood ? What a sound

OverviewLyricsVideosListenArtists Baby I know that we've got trouble in the fields When the bankers swarm like locust out there turning away our yield The trains roll by our silos, silver in the rain They leave our pockets full of nothing But our dreams and the golden grain Have you seen the folks in line downtown at the station They're all buying their ticket out and talking the great depression Our parents had their hard times fifty years ago When they stood out in these empty fields in dust as deep as snow And all this trouble in our fields If this rain can fall, these wounds can heal They'll never take our native soil But if we sell that new John Deere And then we'll work these crops with sweat and tears You'll be the mule I'll be the plow Come harvest time we'll work it out There's still a lot of love, here in these troubled fields There's a book up on the shelf about the dust bowl days And there's a little bit of you and a little bit of me In the photos on every page Now our children live in the city and they rest upon our shoulders They never want the rain to fall or the weather to get colder And all this trouble in our fields If this rain can fall, these wounds can heal They'll never take our native soil But if we sell that new John Deere And then we'll work these crops with sweat and tears You'll be the mule I'll be the plow Come harvest time we'll work it out There's still a lot of love, here in these troubled fields You'll be the mule I'll be the plow Come harvest time we'll work it out There's still a lot of love, here in these troubled fields

"Slow, intimate, reflective, acoustic" pieces is exactly what I love the most about your work. I'm in and I can't wait! I would never be able to get to a concert but I would definitely buy a CD too. Thank you for sharing about the psychological and emotional challenges of putting your work out there - I can so relate and I'm so glad you are overcoming them, because I love your voice and the way you use it, and I love your writing too. All the best for the show - see you there!

This video is so simple yet perfect for the occasion...not surprisingly, exactly the feeling I get when listening and watching any song videos you've posted over the years. Great songs grab the listener in a way that is difficult to explain -- especially when done without extra distractions -- and that's what your songs do, whether originals or covers. I can't wait to see this come together! Keep up the outstanding work, Carson.
