Autodesk is more of an industrial software company, they really didn't pay too much attention to their entertainment software packages currently.😢

Oh, this is a great feature, and I really appreciate it. I use this software to make specific wearable products. It would be great to simulate my products in an environment like this. I hope there will be more editable features on the manikin, such as the waist, hips, etc. Thank you.

I'm finding the create picture script very hit and miss. Are there any additional tips when generating the construction plane to help the image generate properly?

Problem with the scaling within alias is that the sizing of the surface continuity tool (i.e. the P/T/C letter size) is not affected. Windows scaling does affect it however anything below 200% on a 4k 28 inch monitor and the lettering (P/T/C) is unreadable as its tiny. 200% or above and its too large. Also the sizing of stuff like edges/CVS is quite bad and the quills on the curvature combs (almost ghost like thin on a 28 inch 4k monitor). You guys have draw style to change the thickness, however then you are already trying to compensate for bad scaling. As if I like a setting on a 1080p 27 inch monitor I should like the same setting with a 4k monitor if it scales properly. I shouldnt have to change the draw style. And its a bad "fix", as the highest thickness for edges in draw style is too thick and the one below too thin. So in summary: Please work on your scaling of CVS/edges/curvature combs/lettering on the continuity tool etc.

Hahaha, can't believe you recognized! well, I AM the guy who presented the VSR plug-ins for Rhino 10 years ago. :-D
@AutomotiveCNC7 ай бұрын
@@Nebelzinne, your voice is quite relaxing, so it's easy to be remembered. :) Not to mention that I often watch the olds videos about VSR and dream about similar tools in the recent Rhino releases. :) Sadly, it will not work on anything but Rhino 5. There is also a popular thread on the McNeel forum about the VSR plug-in named "VSR end of Life-" where its advanced tools are discussed in detail.
@Nebelzinne7 ай бұрын
@@AutomotiveCNC I sometimes miss those good old times. The Rhino community is really great, and working for a very small and agile software company definitely had its charm. Sadly the number of sales of our plug-ins weren't high enough to grant VSR a safe future. :/ thanks for your comments here, I appreciate your praise on our plug-ins. :)
@AutomotiveCNC7 ай бұрын
@@Nebelzinne , I can't imagine how much better the VSR plug-in would become with 10 years more time for updates and improvements. You and your colleagues did a spectacular job on it! :) With regards to the low sales a decade ago, part of the reason is the marketing strategy that relied mostly on a brief description of the included tools. There were just several videos that were not enough to convince the potential buyers about the true capabilities of the VSR plug-in. KZbin is a huge and free platform for showcasing any product (not just programs), hence the need to present the latter in a more detailed way, including uploading as much videos as possible on a regular basis. In the case of VSR, that means different examples and direct comparison to Rhino's default tools to give people a better understanding of the advantages VSR has over them. Creating a dedicated topic in the Rhino forum would make the plug-in far more popular, as well. The new Cyberstrak plug-in (you probably already know about it) also lacks a proper video presentation for now, but hopefully it will get more coverage in the near future, because this is the way for people to get aware of its existence. As for your current work for Alias, since it's primarily focused on car modeling, I also think that you could make the Manikin script more popular by posting practical examples to showcase the various options it offers. That includes placing the human model in specific poses such like into car seats, furniture, on stairs etc, and scaling it relative to other objects in the scene (cars, homes etc). The idea for making quick poses though the sliders is really nice and people would love to see more details about that. :)

Keep in mind that tutorials about race cars (and cars in general) should take into account the following factors: 1. Ability to enter/exit the car. The 3d model in this video does not have a proper door, as evident from the final render; 2. Ability to move the wheels up and down, as well as to turn the front wheels left and right without touching the wheel arches or the inner top side of the fenders. The car from this video has virtually zero suspension travel, and the protruding wheels will easily collide with the fenders; 3. Visibility through the windshield. Again, this particular car has a very limited visibility due to the sloped edge of the roof; 4. Ability to use the windscreen wiper(s). The car from the video has a windscreen wiper that will not work properly due to the dramatic bends at either side of the windshield and the fact that the wiper will immediately collide with the bonnet; 5. Rear wings are not flat or bulging. Instead, they are concave to redirect the air stream towards the sky, which in turn pushes the car to the ground at high speed; 6. Tyres are always pressed at the bottom due to the mass of the car, making the ground clearance 10-20 mm shorter than what an ideal circle suggests. While designing a car, it's a good idea to place the circle that define the tyre about 10-20 mm below the ground level. P.S.: The above points are not a critique related to the modeling techniques used in this video.

is there an option to clean up the object lister and delete all null nodes in all layers and folders with one click?
@AutodeskDesign8 ай бұрын
Yes of course. Main Menu > Delete > Delete Null Nodes. FYI: For questions like this, I also highly recommend having a look at the documentation (Main Menu > Help > Alias Help). And in case you have a more complicated technical question, you might want to reach out to the Alias forum. You can find it here: forums.autodesk.com/t5/alias/ct-p/4000. I hope that helps

Appreciate the new tools and UI changes - they're great, but removing the sketching tools, such as 'project sketch' does seem to be a bit of a step backwards. These tools were used quite a lot in my Industrial Design experience, especially in the concept stage
