Awesome watch, and a very imformative video! But you failed to mention a very important quirk with these watches. They should never have the dates changed with the push buttons around 10pm-5am. Doing so will severely damage the watch. It’s always good practice to move the hands until you observe the date change and go 5 hours after that before you even consider touching those buttons.

Wow. What a gorgeous piece. These watches are soon going to be a relic of the past. I’ve heard that repairs on these type of watches can become extremely difficult compared to a wrist watch. What an honor it must be to work on these.

Incase you didnt watch: One of the most intriguing aspects of the luxury watch market involves the discontinued stainless steel Rolex models, which have become highly sought-after collectibles. These timepieces, known for their timeless design, exceptional craftsmanship, and reliability, hold a special place in the hearts of watch enthusiasts and collectors worldwide. Rolex has a long history of producing iconic stainless steel watches, many of which have been discontinued over the years, adding to their allure and desirability. The discontinuation of a model often leads to a surge in demand, as collectors recognize the rarity and potential investment value of these pieces. One of the most celebrated discontinued stainless steel models is the Rolex GMT-Master II "Pepsi" with the reference 16710. Known for its distinctive red and blue bezel, reminiscent of the Pepsi logo, this model was favored by pilots and travelers for its ability to display multiple time zones. Discontinued in 2007, the reference 16710 has since become a prized possession for collectors, especially in well-preserved condition. Another iconic discontinued model is the Rolex Submariner with the reference 14060M. Produced between 1990 and 2012, this version of the Submariner retained the classic no-date design, harking back to the original model introduced in the 1950s. Its sleek, minimalist look, combined with robust construction and impressive water resistance, makes it a timeless favorite among diving watch enthusiasts. The Rolex Explorer II with the reference 16570 is another notable discontinued stainless steel model. Produced from 1989 to 2011, it features a distinctive 24-hour hand and a fixed bezel with 24-hour markings, designed for adventurers exploring polar regions or caving. Its rugged design and reliable performance have made it a beloved choice for those seeking both functionality and style. The allure of discontinued stainless steel Rolex models extends beyond their aesthetic and functional appeal. These watches often feature unique design elements or production techniques that are no longer used, adding to their uniqueness and collectibility. For example, older models may have tritium luminescent markers, which develop a distinctive patina over time, enhancing their vintage charm. The discontinuation of these models often leads to an appreciation in value, as the limited supply meets growing demand. Collectors and enthusiasts are drawn to the rarity and historical significance of these watches, viewing them as tangible pieces of Rolex's rich heritage. The legacy of discontinued stainless steel Rolex models is a testament to the brand's enduring appeal and commitment to excellence. These timepieces are more than just watches; they are symbols of innovation, craftsmanship, and timeless design, cherished by generations and continuing to captivate new audiences in the ever-evolving world of luxury watches.

In case you didn’t already know Here’s a fun fact: One of the most fascinating aspects of luxury watches involves the prestigious line of platinum Rolex models, which epitomize exclusivity, precision, and elegance. Rolex, renowned for its innovation and craftsmanship, has created some of the most sought-after timepieces in the world, and their platinum models are no exception. Platinum, one of the rarest and most durable precious metals, is known for its stunning silvery-white luster and its resistance to tarnish and wear. Rolex uses 950 platinum, an alloy consisting of 95% pure platinum, ensuring the highest quality and robustness. The choice of this metal adds a level of prestige and luxury to the watches, making them highly coveted by collectors and enthusiasts. One of the most iconic platinum Rolex models is the Rolex Day-Date, also known as the "President" watch. Introduced in 1956, the Day-Date was the first wristwatch to display the date and the day of the week spelled out in full. The platinum versions of the Day-Date are particularly distinguished by their stunning dials, often adorned with precious stones like diamonds, emeralds, or sapphires, adding to their allure and exclusivity. The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona is another platinum masterpiece, celebrated for its association with high-performance motorsport. The platinum Daytona, introduced in 2013 to mark the 50th anniversary of the model, features an ice-blue dial and a chestnut brown Cerachrom bezel. This combination not only enhances the watch's aesthetic appeal but also underscores its status as a luxury sports watch. Platinum Rolex models are not just about their precious metal; they also feature the brand's cutting-edge technology and craftsmanship. These watches are equipped with Rolex's proprietary movements, known for their precision, reliability, and durability. The meticulous attention to detail in the manufacturing process ensures that each watch is a work of art, capable of withstanding the test of time. The exclusivity of platinum Rolex models is also reflected in their production numbers. Due to the difficulty in working with platinum and the meticulous craftsmanship required, these watches are produced in limited quantities. This rarity, combined with their inherent value and the prestige of the Rolex brand, makes platinum Rolex models highly desirable and often seen as status symbols. The legacy of platinum Rolex models extends beyond their luxurious materials and precise engineering; they represent a pinnacle of watchmaking excellence. These timepieces are a testament to Rolex's commitment to innovation, quality, and timeless design, making them cherished heirlooms and coveted collectibles for generations to come.

Here's a fun fact: One of the most fascinating aspects of luxury watches involves the remarkable history of Rolex, a brand that revolutionized the watchmaking industry and set the standard for precision and elegance. Founded by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis in 1905, Rolex is often hailed as a pioneer in creating the first waterproof and dustproof wristwatch, the Rolex Oyster, which debuted in 1926. The Oyster’s popularity can be attributed to Rolex’s innovative engineering and marketing techniques. Prior to the Oyster, wristwatches were susceptible to damage from water and dust. Rolex’s introduction of the hermetically sealed case changed that, offering unparalleled protection and reliability. In 1927, to prove the Oyster’s waterproof capabilities, a Rolex watch was worn by Mercedes Gleitze during her swim across the English Channel, surviving the 10-hour journey and emerging in perfect working condition. This marketing feat garnered significant attention and established Rolex as a symbol of durability and luxury. Rolex continued to innovate with the creation of the Perpetual movement in 1931, the first self-winding mechanism with a perpetual rotor, eliminating the need for manual winding. This breakthrough allowed for greater accuracy and convenience, further cementing Rolex's reputation for excellence. The Rolex Submariner, introduced in 1953, became an iconic diver’s watch with its exceptional water resistance and robust design. It featured a rotatable bezel to track diving time and was capable of withstanding depths of up to 100 meters, later improved to even greater depths. The Submariner's association with professional divers and its appearances in popular culture, particularly in James Bond films, made it one of the most recognizable and sought-after watches in the world. Rolex’s commitment to precision is evident in their pursuit of chronometric excellence, with many of their watches earning COSC certification for their outstanding accuracy. The brand's focus on craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless design has led to a legacy of creating some of the most desirable and valuable watches in the market. The legacy of Rolex extends beyond its mechanical achievements; it represents a pivotal moment in watchmaking history where technological advancements and marketing savvy began to shape the luxury watch industry. Rolex's influence can still be seen today in the way watches are crafted and valued, setting a standard for luxury, performance, and timeless elegance.

Here’s a fun fact: One of the most fascinating facts about cars involves the remarkable history of the Ford Model T, the car that revolutionized the automotive industry and made personal transportation affordable to the masses. Introduced by Henry Ford in 1908, the Model T is often hailed as the first affordable automobile that put the world on wheels. The Model T’s affordability and popularity can be attributed to Ford’s innovative use of assembly line production techniques. Prior to the Model T, cars were assembled by hand, which was a time-consuming and costly process. In 1913, Ford implemented the moving assembly line in his factory, drastically reducing the time it took to assemble a car from over 12 hours to just 93 minutes. This breakthrough allowed Ford to significantly lower the price of the Model T, making it accessible to a much broader segment of the population. The Model T, also known as the “Tin Lizzie,” was renowned for its durability, simplicity, and versatility. It featured a 20-horsepower, four-cylinder engine, and could reach speeds of up to 45 miles per hour. The car was designed to handle the rough, unpaved roads of the early 20th century, making it ideal for both urban and rural driving. By the time production ended in 1927, over 15 million Model Ts had been sold, a record that stood for decades. The car’s success had a profound impact on society, contributing to the growth of suburbs, the development of road infrastructure, and the rise of a car-owning middle class. The legacy of the Ford Model T extends beyond its mechanical achievements; it represents a pivotal moment in industrial history where mass production techniques began to shape the modern economy. The Model T’s influence can still be seen today in the way cars are manufactured and how they have shaped global mobility and culture.
