Hello! She is about 14 days post-mating. The reason they came for a scan so early is because the stud owner was unsure whether she was at 2 or 3 weeks post-mating.

She recommended to investigate further with a cardiologist and an ultrasound, especially because my bunny needs to be sedated with sevoflurane every six weeks for his incisor trimming. He’s a 10-year-old senior rabbit, a Netherlands Dwarf. My question is if he really needs also to be sedated for the ultrasound and so I was trying to find a video to see in which cases or if always rabbits need to be sedated like I saw the dog here. My bunny is very fearful and he stresses easily.

@ It would depend on his temperament. The dog in this video is not sedated. Where do you and your rabbit live?

The latest ScanPad gives stunning images, but the Apogee 1000 Lite will be a step up from that, because it is a higher end system. What machine do you have at the moment?

There were at least four in this litter. Ultrasound isn't the ideal modality for exact numbers, particularly later into gestation, but I can show you how we do it earlier on in the pregnancy.

Exactly, Marny. This is what we're campaigning for. Right now, there is no official qualification. Animal Ultrasound Association accreditation is the closest we currently have, as it's the only accreditation that's backed by sonographers. No other type of accreditation has any meaning at all in this field.

You will get an image, but it won't be as good as it could be - also, the footprint of lower frequency probes is often quite large, which can make them very difficult for use on cats.
