The mistake fans typically make is thinking that if you multiple 1st round picks or lottery picks that will automatically make a successful team. That's not always the case. Look at Detroit. Their roster is filled with lottery picks yet they are they're still at the bottom of the league. The Wizards need to keep Poole. They now know how they should've used him. His last 10 games he averaged 23ppg, 8 assists and 4 rebounds. If they trade him for picks are you sure you will get someone who will be better? All lottery picks don't work out. After the move to PG he got better and better and looked like the old GS Poole. With the new coaches strong development background he can help him further develop. The thing to remember with him, is we've seen him be great so you know he's capable. They just need to make he continues to develop. Trading him for picks that may not work out could set a rebuilding team like the Wizards back for years.

tbh teams just need a season where there players can build up chem with each other like they arent gonna trade and instantly see a whole new team flourishing there will be growing pains like dame and giannis i think they will be better next season as this season they are just getting to know how to play together and shit like that where the whole team is building chem.

Indeed the Wizards have no other real choice but hold onto Jordan Poole given that he currently has no net-positive trade value. However, by no means should they count on him to be the focal point of the franchise, and build the roster around him. Instead, they should use their 26th pick to select a developmental point guard to come off the bench, take Tyus Jones' spot, and provide the team with other options in case Poole's play declines again.

Because he has 3 years contract with high salary he is hard to trade. The payoff will be bad contracs, so definitely it's better to keep him (at least for now). Poole must improve his off ball game (even PGs must know how to play without the ball, or being SG when needed) and his defence. To my opinion, Wizards must play strong defence and with Bilal, Deni and Sarr/Risacher in the starting 5 they can. Players who cut corners shouldn't get minutes (as a policy and hopefully he will learn because he can be at least average).
