It is a racist play....as long as the casting of Othello is always reserved for black actors only.

Why is the woman playing as Petruchio and the man as Kate? Weird! Doesn't work.

I have listened to 20 of these. 3 were spoken to me, the rest, at me. Clever vocals with no substance. Were these individuals left to their own devices, or coached. If coached, fire the coaches. Is this how you want to present your “talent”?

Jacobean tragedy is generally full of murders and very evil characters. Its the style of the plays. The White Devil is famous for Bracciano's murder of his wife. Every night before she goes to sleep. She kisses his portrait, she loves him so much. So he decides to poison the lips of the painting. Sometimes its a statue. And she collapses backwards fluttering down the steps.

When you do Shakespeare you can’t do them in one note or one tone it gets boring since his passages are so very long that’s why I think this play was meant to be read not performed. I thought this was done with a little too much realism and not enough respect for the work . A little too much over the top although they are performing for live audience and not for the camera it’s way too big for thr camera .

"For know, that all your strict-combined heads, Which strike against this mine of diamonds, Shall prove but glassen hammers: they shall break". My favourite play - I hope it will play again soon.

I watched Paapa Essiedu's Hamlet last nigh and the RSC's innovative African staging of it. At last I have understood what was meant by those who have insisted that Shakespeare wrote for all humanity.

Fascinating. A must for any, every, fan of both RSC and Shakespeare productions. Some of these are featured on the dvd. Greg Doran is, was, an outstanding production director and artistic director.
