actually unless your only doing 90 to 100 yards you should zero your scope at 50 yards, WHY because when you go to aim at something like 30 yards or 40 yards it's not going to be zeroed as well. adjusting your scope or sights at 50 yards is a happy medium so weather your shooting at 20 yards or 100 it is going to be accurate..

This video made me decide to buy an axis 2 .270. I wasn't sure about the recoil because i have a shoulder injury,but watching someone 1/3 my size shoot it the recoil doesn't look bad at all. I really wanted to jump on the 6.5 creedmoor bandwagon, but that .270 win shoots so much flatter and faster and hits way harder. I watched an elderly man shoot both at the range and I didn't see a difference in the recoil. 270 is awesome and you're a great dad.

Would you think this would work for a cross bow as well to sight in?
@ddwildoutdoors8337 Жыл бұрын
It probably would but it’s not adjustable as far as the front rest coming back and hitting the rail of the crossbow properly. Would need to measure the rest points.

Nice work! I’ve been fishing the west bay this past summer, it’s fun! Haven’t tried thru ice yet, pretty excited to if we get safe ice.. I have the livescope plus, so much fun! Any tips on east? Pm me, we could swap info! Or hit the water together!

I’ve been living up here for most of my life and we don’t get the bays to freeze over fully or safely too often. Seems the winters are getting milder as time goes on. It is a blast when they do though, lots of big fish. I truthfully don’t fish the bays very often. I’m located about an hour away from those bodies of water. I do ice fish many inland lakes in the traverse, Interlochen, and even the Kalkaska area. This year has not been too great for ice but the next two weeks should change that. Thanks for commenting on the vid and I wish you the best of luck and tight lines.
@PAGOutdoors Жыл бұрын
@@ddwildoutdoors8337 gotcha, I’m about 2.5 hours south of the bays. Figured they would freeze up being that much further north, bummer. This year has been bad for it too. Drove up to Cadillac last weekend, got into some jumbo perch and gills. Yeah this weather should turn around now, probably not enough for the bays I’m guessing. Tight lines bro!

At 6:47 your child did an excellent job trying to keep eyes open even though they were squinting! Your child really needs hearing protection……. Myself 60 years of shooting and the last twenty years with hearing aids! Even now while hunting I keep hearing protection next to me…. hopefully I’ll get the time to put it on if not I’m hunting! Give your child the hearing protection and you load the rifle but switch off and on with used rounds! Don’t let them know when you put the fired rounds in and watch! You will see!

At 2:20 zero your target at 1.5 “ high at twenty yards and you will be smack on at 120 yards (mind you still 1.5” high) and if you are deer hunting I wouldn’t worry about anything less then 240 yards…. Just did this with my daughter’s rifle……. Same caliber only 3x8x40 scope!

I am thinking about building something similar for cracking corn for my chickens. Interesting that you use a single paddle versus several hammers. I am assuming you get some pretty good vibration with it. Still, it does the job!
@ddwildoutdoors83372 жыл бұрын
Not really vibration but it’s chewing corn up at the same time so never really noticed I guess. I left mine portable. I just use a ratchet strap to secure it and let it eat.

How the duck does this even happen. Have to be some shitty arrows ??!?
@ddwildoutdoors83372 жыл бұрын
Aged arrows, arrows that have weather or sun damage, manufactured defects, stressed or micro fractures or simply china junk. It’s worth doing a bend test on them and listening for cracking or splintering. I’ve never had one break but I sure wouldn’t want it to happen either.

Thanks for the video. I was just wondering how to properly take it apart to clean it, and I think you answered that question quite thoroughly. I just bought myself one and put a sig red dot on it in the co witness position. It didn't come with sights but it works well for me in the elevated position. I have a few guns, but I think after shooting this one it could be my favorite.
@ddwildoutdoors83372 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, I actually started out with a red dot on mine and struggled with shot placement. I did some research and bought a scope and that was the ticket for me. I had not much experience with red dots so it could have been me but needless to say I love my cva. I have recently purchased a single shot Thompson oncore chambered in .308 basically the same platform. I’ve been carrying that through rifle season. Carrying a large pistol through the woods is awesome, makes the hunt more challenging and nostalgic in my opinion. Happy hunting and remember don’t run too much powder through that pistol, I started out with 150 grains, my first shot was epic. I’ve sighted in at 100 grains in the white hot and a power belt and it’s accurate out to 70 plus.

It’s possible but I don’t recommend it, you would need to truly watch the weather. The wind can come up quickly out there and get sporty quick. We had some really calm days a couple weeks ago but the cold front has made for strong winds.

You have the jack dagle pro series, i just bough two sets one medium and one large set, according to another video they have drilled a hole (i can see the hole in your video) they did that so people can use a pencil type light that I guess sticks in their? But I like your light system maybe better even though I just ordered the units yours keeps the light Higher out of the water so I will grab a few of those lights as well. My problem is my boat the slowest I can currently go is like 2.4 mph (older 50hp johnson tiller) so some days with sufficient wind I am wondering if I can just use the wind? any thoughts?
@ddwildoutdoors83372 жыл бұрын
I struggled with the same thing, I have an older evenrude 65 on my boat and it wouldn’t troll down low enough. I installed a trolling plate on my motor and that helped. I got down to 1.5-1.8 but to get down to lower speeds I finally upgraded to a higher end bow mount trolling motor. The Minnkota Terova 24v 80lb thrust is what I run. Changed everything about my boat and how I was able to dial in trolling. Plus it’s quiet and best of all it’s fuel efficient. I rarely use my big motor anymore other than just getting to an area than it’s all trolling motor.
@diggindiggenit65402 жыл бұрын
@@ddwildoutdoors8337 Great idea thanks man, I could do easy 1.7 with my 30hp but that 50 yeah not cutting it, so looks like an upgrade to a trolling motor thanks.
