Are you charging the batteries after every use or running them dead and then charging? Also, after driving the chair for 20 minutes, put your hand on each motor quickly... is one extremely hot? Put your hand on and off the motor quickly as one may be very hot.

Also, what type/brand batteries are you using?

@@windsorrocks I charge them after each use…I rarely lose more than one notch and I’ve checked the motors,not hot.

The problem is while most of us would love to do this most of us do not have the strength needed as our mobility is compromised. We cannot manhandle the chair onto its side for us to blow compressed air into a tight space or to remove the wheel to clean it. Nor to many of us have the luxury of having a mini garage service station. So we rely on people like this gentleman to replace what we need when we need it.

IMHO he should have checked the old motors after they're disconnected from the power module by applying 24V DC. If they don't spin with 24V DC power applied check for bad motor brushes, bad commutator, bad bearings or bad gears. Easy fixes except for the gears, or just buy a pair of good used motors & gearbox's on Ebay for approx $150.00 to help save the customer money. I'm pretty sure the customer would rather pay a few hundred bucks VS paying for new motor gearbox's at the retail price as of OCT 30th, 2021 for $545.80 each X two + taxes and his labor rate per hour. My apologies to him if he did and the customer wanted new motor gearbox's anyway.

Water damage or a power surge. Most of the time when insurance is involved both motors ate requested so both are operating at the same capacity.

@@wheelchairbumpkin7766 Thank you for the info. I didn't even think of that scenario. H2o prevention just jumped to #1 spot of things to do. I only use mine outside mostly to walk the 100lbs dog. (Not safe if a cat shows up)ha Its been caught in the rain a couple of times. But I baggy the top controls.
