I had exact same GE Profile microwave that the front glass panel just fell off and broke. Could not get a replacement. I ordered this alternative one (and it happened to be on sale from Lowes for $90 off!) and everything matched up with the mount screws. On the vent cowling, old sticky tape on the side vent cowling would not stick so I just used some 3M foil HVAC tape and taped it to the microwave (can't see it once trim plate reinstalled). This saved us $100s. Thanks for posting this video!

Thank you for this video! Our microwave died three days before we were selling our house and we were told that there was no replacement for our aged GE profile microwave and we would have to get a whole new installation, kit and bezel! We watched this video last night right after our microwave died… Found one just like yours at our neighborhood. Lowe’s picked it up today… Unscrewed the brackets off of the dead microwave and screwed them right into the new microwave in the same exact holes! it fits perfectly and works swimmingly! Cannot thank you enough

Wow this really helped me! I just bought the jes2051snss without realizing there’s a corresponding trim kit with it. Can you tell ‘em what trim kit to get? Or that you have that worked with it? Thank you!!

Used the existing trim kit, the screw positions are the same.

Like the previous comment, I really appreciate you sharing this information with us. I purchased the JES 2051SNss and it worked just like you said. I wasn't looking forward to ordering a customer mounting kit from GE. Thank you again. You are a lifesaver.

Hello, my refrigerator is the same model as yours. My refrigerator suddenly stopped working, and I suspect the compressor start relay is not functioning. Do you know where the compressor start relay is located? Thank you so much.

Sorry, I don’t. For mine, it was working but the control board paused the fan briefly. I mailed it out for repaired. You can called the repair company I worked with and hopefully they can give you the answer. Good luck.

Like @wendytempleton7529, this post was perfect! My GE Profile died today, after 13 years. Your post showed me what to go look for. Not only did I find the model but it was on sale for $219! Easy swapout, and though it's not a perfect fit, it is definitely as close as I could ever hope for. Thanks!

I can’t thank you enough for posting this! One year later, and you’re still helping people like me. My 9 year old PEB2060SM1SS micro died today. But thanks to you, I just finished replacing it with the JES2051SNSS. I didn’t even look at the features before purchase. I just wanted it to fit! …and it fits perfectly! Also, as a bonus, the features and power are the same as the old model!

SInce the JES2051SnSS is rated for a counter top, is this OK installing it in a wall?

I compared both units, looks like they have the same ventilation design. And the housing has about 1 inch clearance on each dimension. I only use for heating up leftovers with less than 5 minutes run time. If you are going to use for cooking, you might want to get the original replacement with warranty.

This video really needs more likes! My microwave was no longer working very well, but I really didn't want to buy the new trim so I started looking for options. This was really great. Microwave arrived yesterday from Best Buy and 45 minutes later I was up and running. Thanks again!
