Do all these guys talk like Crumb or vice versa? Lol

I’ve wanted this level of access to Clowes’ process my entire life. Modern Cartoonist gives you a great look at Clowes’ process but this video is super cool (Minus the soundtrack. Sounds like one of those unlistenable Mike Patton albums woth 3 hours of breathing and scratching sounds. I’m glad that shit died). Anyway, Clowes’ technical ablity and craftsmanship has blown me away since I first picked up Eightball #1 all those years ago. I’ll probably watch this 60 times.

I love the way this profile is made, very intelligent filmaking. The interview segments, comic panel choices, soundtrack, all of it very involving. Also hearing Cowes techniques etc. Awesome

Why is this film maker obsessed with making everything Clowes say seem so grim? The music, close shots, and even asking immediately about nightmares when Clowes was just talking about comics composition. His comics can be dark, but they also have their own sense of humor to them. Get a grip

6:25 I love how he talks about how he dreams about finding his dream comic, that no one has ever told him about. Cause that to me was his book, Like A Velvet Glove Cast In Iron, ever since I saw it at this comic shop I felt it was completely tailored towards me and I fell in love

To say that nostalgia and paranoia are linked makes an implicit, unconscious sense. Nostalgia is to long for what is lost, paranoia is to fear what may be lost.

The new KZbin policies in regards to replying to comments are beyond annoying. I would like to be helpful and inform the user who posted below "Man I am dying to know what that conservative christian space comic is" and tell him that if he can get access to the book "In the Studio" by Todd Hignite it identifies what the comic is and shows pictures of some panels as well. Now, because rightly no one cares about Google+, I cannot reply and he will probably never see this. Keep trying to find ways to make more money, Google! Who cares if you're ruining KZbin!

@Carl Lelandt - that is so disgusting, but so true and well said. With all the fine tuning on this platform, I more than suspect corporations, especially the one this one is attached to, to do everything in their power to smash all dissent and suffocate all comers with marshmallow vanilla codeine syrup. And keep us dreaming in a coma till dead and disposed of, replaced by a continuous drone army of “earners” who generate the blood they would feed on till all the world pointlessly burns up. On the bright side, for the moment I’m still alive and hope you are, too, as I type. (8 June, 2020; 1:53pm central)
