It’s a very hit or miss fishery. But during the right time of year if you look around hard enough, you can usually find them! Timing is key when it comes to these fish.

Hogfish were open in season in the area we were diving. Only certain parts of the Dry Tortugas are protected.

Yes, it’s a great sight to see! We didn’t have any shark issues on these dives, but we regularly have shark problems haha.

Thanks! Typically we use 30-50w class conventional reel with 100-150 pound braid and heavy drag.

You guys did great. Bottom fish are my weakness and those didn't disappoint. Got you some fine white meat filets and out west we like to cross cut through the tuna and make steaks with the bone in and put em on the grill with some lemon pepper and butter. Oh my. Thanks for the great video 😎

@@REELGUIDESTV I fish Gautier with Spot on Charters and Captain Lee Windham. I had just gotten over stage 4 cancer several years ago and I was well enough to fish. We fished with Menhayden near a concrete piling. I caught 3 forty pound redfish on 3 casts to the same spot. After I landed the 3rd one I was completely exhausted. Never did that before and probably won't ever do it again but that's fishing 😆
