He said he learnt Greek as a child from his mother. That suggests Greek is pretty much a native language to him. Learning as a child means can you master accents. It's much, much harder to achieve that later in adulthood.

He gave good tips. I would really like to watch a testimonial from a person who did not have Greek exposure as a child via parents/family. That would really give confidence to people who wish to learn the language.

I'm nitpicking here, but your phrasing of " erhetai sto sosto simeio" means you are arriving at the correct point; a better translation would be: irthatai sto sosto meros (you have arrived at the right place).

FRENCH!!! I hate it. The course I take focusses so much on the grammar and it's impossible to remember when trying to structure a sentence! I think I learn more grammar by just listening and after a while it becomes natural.

In Spanish the word " claro " means clear but has different meanings like " ? Have you understand ?, depends on how it is empathised . The arabic word " yani " is the equivalent. We say " bla, bla, bla " which is ending of " habla " 😮

No disrespect but saying you speak South African could easily be seen here in SA as offensive, considering our not so distant past, where fellow South Africans who spoke english had to learn Afrikaans by mandate. And to a lesser extent the black natives aswell. We have 12 official languages here today. I'm gonna take a guess and say it's probably Zulu or Afrikaans seeing as you can speak Dutch.

Whereas I have picked up quite a bit of Italian during my travels to Italy (because English is not widely spoken In Italy). I must confess to having just gone along with the fact that so many Greeks speak English, and are quite keen to do so. However, having found your channel I'm going to make a concerted effort to add to the few Greek words I know. Thanks from Denmark

Do you have any recommendations on how to learn Danish. Or if should start with another such as Norwegian or Swedish becoming they sound and seem easier than Danish and then learn danish.
@alleuropetravel Жыл бұрын
@@Nick_G. Oooh, that's a tough question. As you are probably aware all three Scandinavian languages are pretty similar, though they may not sound the same because of the various intonations. Norwegian is closer to Danish than Swedish but many of us understand each other, Swedish as well.
