Phil is such a tremendously versatile guitarist whose innate sense of melody is as smooth as butter, flowing like water,. Guitar acrobatics, delivered in a subtle yet powerful style.

I’ve been born again since 2010 and by His grace I still found myself in His loving arms. I am nothing without Him. This song helped me grow in my relationship with Jesus in my teenage years. I am so happy hearing this again today, Nov 2024. Praise God!

I love this song. I sang it at weddings and it was sung at my wedding. My beautiful wife and I were bound together with Christ with this song and a three fold cord is not easily broken. And Scott Wesley Brown is a class act. I was sitting next to him at a concert in Estes Park, Colorado without knowing who he was. We chatted for some time and he said he had to go. He went up on stage!

Does anyone know where I can find this song to purchase? I used to own the cd but it's gone the way of all things😆 I've tried every platform I can find. I'd buy the whole album again for this one song...

From the first time I heard this, I've felt that Phil is imagining Jimi Hendrix filled with the Holy Spirit at the foot of the cross.

I've heard guitarists answer the question, "How long did you practice when you started playing guitar," and they answer differently, so much time a day. In a PK interview he's asked that and his answer was, "I never put it down."

In 93 or 94, Phil performed alone in a church near Chicago. My 4th or 5th time seeing him. He'd conquered the shyness & nervousness he exhibited during the late 70's, & was very chatty & personable with the audience (maybe 200-300 folks). He played Sunday's Child as his final song (or an encore?), & invited people to stand behind him on stage to sing it with him. ~20 of us jumped at the chance. I recall hitting the high harmony line during the chorus. Singing with Phil Keaggy!! I'm much older now, & my range has decreased. That reminds me -- I heard (or read in an article?) Phil expressing his surprise that HIS vocal range actually INCREASED as he aged. What a great songwriter, GUITAR PLAYER, vocalist, entertainer, minister, & friendly guy! My friend Nate, my small group leader in the Rebuilders divorce recovery workshop/ministry at Willow Creek Community Church, who often said "That sucks" when comforting group members facing hard times, turned to me in between sets and said "John, this DOESN'T SUCK". He was impressed. Do Phil and/or Randy still perform live? I'm a Deist now, but I'd like to see them again, & bring friends. The small venues at which Phil (& Randy?) often performed provided an intimacy / physical closeness that felt much more enjoyable to me than arena-sized (or even gymnasium-sized) venues. I mean, you could see his fingernails! A guitarist friend of mind used to get a seat up front & frantically scribble notes describing his fingering on the fretboard. A real class act.

This guitar solo is unique, beautiful and one of the most inspirational and creative solos I've ever heard. The chord progression in the verse and chorus resembles "All My Loving" ...not surprising because there's a heavy McCartney influence throughout much of Phil's stuff. (checkout the middle 8 to "Everywhere I Look" kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpOmiYiaoZiqbrM ) Here's a brain teaser for everyone...let's say, God forbid. Paul had truly passed away early on...in that scenario the BEST person in the world who could have easily stepped in to replace him would have been Phil Keaggy. From song writing, to voice and of course guitar chops, (I'm certain Phil could play an adequate bass) Thank heaven for Phil inspiring this Beatle fan to fall in love with Jesus also.
