Connection is so important with adoptive families! As a therapist who specializes with this pop, I’m here to tell you that connection first makes all the difference! My families will tell you it is a game changer too!

100%!!! Also, you know your kids best. Don’t ever let anyone convince you otherwise.

It is incredibly INCREDIBLY concerning that you folks are using the enneagram in your teachings. 19:51 there is NOTHING biblical in the enneagram. In fact it arrived out of practices that are the antithesis to biblical teachings, occult and demonic practices actually. I really pray you have gotten away from this.

My son’s bio Dad is extremely manipulative and it’s manifesting as my son lying to me and my husband even though he knows our family has a zero tolerance lying policy. How do I show that I unconditionally love my son, do not approve of his lying, and understand he’s too scared to stand up to his bio Dad?

Wow!! She is great. So down to earth and has such inspiring things to say. And I have to say the first thing I noticed was the her books in the background are color coordinated. Love it!

Alison, your encouraging word of reframing the view of self and emotions in the context of following Jesus is a powerful and liberating message, not just for women. Many of us have wounds from misconstrued messages from the church, and your work very effectively shows us how to apply the tools of psychology to love and live like Jesus better. Thank you for your courageous work, and thank you Sissy and David for your always timely podcast and guests!

Do you have a chart at all that shows recommended bedtime and recommended screen time per age? I realize this is something that would be so individual to each child, but just anything as a gauge that you have found helpful? I love the idea of laying out the roadmap far in advance so they know what to expect each year. And then always adjusting or pulling in the slack if they need adjustment. We are just in the very beginning stages of this age group.

So good! Shanera's analogy of "bricks inside our backpacks" - so real & relatable to explain the racism our children experience.

Great discussion from Brown Mama Bear! Loved the “no longer fraction myself..:: I’m showing up whole”. 🙌🏽

I have to say, she had me locked in with the moment she started talking in that calm quiet voice. :) also her comment about setting a timer and saying “ we have to talk about this for 90 seconds and you don’t have to look at me” all of this was pure gold and so helpful. Thank you, thank you for the time. ❤
