I got another story for ya, the Puryear family are direct descendants of the founders of Nashville TN. Our five times great-grandfather Samuel Barton was the first justice of the peace and signer of the Cumberland compact.

I got to fly over Cincinnati in this aircraft during the AA promo tour. I was like 9 or 10. I still have the little card/certificate they gave all the passengers. I have flown in the EAA tri-motor a couple of times in the last 40 years. Thanks for the film! I don't know if we have any pictures or footage of that flight. Odd, because may dad, who took us, was a Captain for Lake Central and we were always taking movies and pictures. There are a few Lake Central 8mm clips at this address... kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqPQoKppjJ6WiNE and the EAA tri-motor here... kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIqmnoN5m7CagKc

Thanks so much for the KZbin clips. I will definitely watch them. My older brother and a kid from the neighborhood went with my dad to see the Trimotor. I was 6 and a little too young to go. I'm glad I had this clip to post.

Yes it did. The soundboard feed didn't have Jim's vocals so I had to use an audience feed layered into it. Did the best I could with what I had to work with. Thanks for watching!

This was a great concert. Unfortunately not very crowded, or maybe not so unfortunate. Before the show we were having dinner up the street, and Drummer Greg Anton was there having dinner as well. We went over and had a nice little chat with him and got a fist bump in the process. A real cool dude. ZERO is an amazing group, and I'm so happy that Steve Kimock and his son John Morgan are living in Steve's hometown of Bethlehem, Pa. once again. See ya around town guys. Thanks again John, great job.

What a gem! Please tell me a bit of DTB trivia from back in this golden era.
@johnsipple41135 ай бұрын
Hi ! The guy in the thumbnail is named Sharkey who was from San Diego and a frequent sight at California Dead shows. This was the very first DTB California tour. I was living about 20 miles away at the time and there was no way I couldn't go. Me and a friend of mine ended up hanging out after the show in their tour bus which they managed to drive across the country minus several mechanical break downs. I remember hanging in the bus with Jeb and Tara who were both very kind and cool to talk to. We didn't stay long as they were tired and ready to go to their next gig. I wish I had a better camera back in the day. Thanks for your question!
@bryanharrell40595 ай бұрын
@@johnsipple4113 Outstanding. Thank you! That bus is legend, huh.. East Coast here, NC. 1st DTB was Ziggy's. Changed me for sure. Best thing I found post Jerry. All kind souls. Spent a few minutes on the bus in 2006, Tara kind of politely kicked me off..lol. * don't usually get starstruck but Jen & Tara are starstruck material. I'm glad you documented this 1st west coast show. It's big in my book, friend. As far as quality; I've bent my ear through many recordings to get the good stuff. This is GOOD stuff! Edit: Ziggy's 98 *Jeb and Tara

I met Donna (singer) in the New Orleans Tower Records while browsing records in 2002. Darlin' Aussie accent asking me if Neil Young's, "Rust Never Sleeps", is good? 10 minutes later I'm watching them perform in the store. Completely smitten and blown away...

This was a sacred night in Maui. My wife and 2 small children had planned a trip to Hawaii and Alaska for a year and a half and then my mother got terminal brain cancer and we didn’t think we’d be able to go because she was going to pass. She demanded we go, and that she would hang on and wait for us to get back. So we went. I’ll never forget the moment he played this, the clouds the moon, the smell of Hawaiian ganja. My mother was on her deathbed when he played this for me! It was perfect.
