If u r talkin abt forward and backwards marching then its not really hard but when you are on the practice field is when ur front is easy but going backwards is a little more hard but moving left and right is much harder im also a rookie too so ur not alone.
@captainkiwi772 жыл бұрын
If you can teach an inexperienced high schooler to March corps in 2 weeks of band camp to a basic passable level, I guarantee you can make the transition to corps style in the same amount of time to a higher level as a college student with marching experience

I realize this is coming from a Blue Knight and not someone in hs/college marching band, but, despite looking strong, the guy in the middle in the glasses also looks extremely tense. Getting the shoulders back is good, but don't force it. You can still look strong without looking like you're in pain.

@kaleighdejavasquez51015 жыл бұрын
They are probably in band camp or in band rehearsal. It's a video for gosh sake, nobody wants to get all dressed up for that. They are just teaching and showing the fundamentals, and technic of marching. With uniform it may be hard to show the way your legs are supposed to move if you have baggy band pants on.

Having had experience in both the Army and in marching bands, I don't know why everyone is crying about marching bands practicing drill. The purpose of marching drill is to move large bodies in formation efficiently, applies to military and band formations. Granted there are some mistakes in this video but give them a break.

And that’s the difference between a military style marching band and a more corps style aligned one. 45 degree splits do not matter at all to this style
@cthklh14586 жыл бұрын
lmao. their feet don’t have to be at a 45 degree angle since this is MARCHING BAND not JROTC. chill out. but, they should be taught not to lock their knees or they could potentially pass out.

We got taught that our feet need to be at a 45 degree angel when flanking or traversing
@cthklh14586 жыл бұрын
Lea Tutorials okay. it differs from school to school. but i was saying their feet DON’T need to be at a 45 since that’s how the school has taught them and a lot of other people were saying that their feet needed to be at a 45. most of the facing movements are really similar or almost the exact same to JROTC movements. marching band takes a lot of work, so i appreciate the work that you guys put in.

klh.13 have you ever watched DCI, most of those corps halt at a 45.
@lottapitchy96253 жыл бұрын
Lol our marching band has us at 90 degrees but we always place against the giant 6A schools so I’m not complaining
@captainkiwi772 жыл бұрын
@@anthonyapuzzo6131 some do, some corps have a wider turn out roughly to 90, many corps still go parallel. And outside of the incredibly small world of just corps, most high schools and colleges have drastically different approaches including legs apart, or 3rd position. For a high school... there is no reason whatsoever to limit your students to protractor perfect 45degree angles.
