I'm not sure. I havent tested it. I usually play java modded not vanilla.

@@kipperplaysmc honestly I just gave up and looked for them. Found a great area that was the size of an ocean but a river biome. It also had a sunken ship but idk if that affects spawns. Either way I got two tridents pretty easy
