Today IN 2024, not only do they justify slavery as moral for the time (which is false - never in history was slavery commoditized and perpetuated to slaves’ children) but they are even saying it was a skill building exercise and allowed slaves to garner employment post slavery. Even if we accept that for the last generations of slaves who were freed (and we don’t) what about the preceding 11 generations who remained in bondage? Was the 12 generation garnering a “skill” justification for keeping the 11 prior generations in captivity?
