has bullish option flow which is a bonus but the d1 structure on something with that kind of market cap usually requires more digestion for further upside. wait longer and get some distance from that 25$ high, is 20$ holds that's a good doozy. The issue is that the market might not align by the time that happens, our upside is pretty limited without a catalyst

Hey dan, why do you like making the distance from your entry to your stop to be less than the stock's ATR?
@danielschultz28072 ай бұрын
if using shares it just works on a practical sense for taking partial profits and trailing. Sometimes I'll exceed it if I think it's great. imo you need to use the lod of the breakout day because you need half of that candle to hold and there could be some wick below it.
@billylongdraw54042 ай бұрын
I’ve heard you mention the relationship between market cap and pullback/consolidation duration a few times but that’s a new concept to me. Could you explain it in your next video?
@danielschultz28072 ай бұрын
@billylongdraw5404 the lower the market cap typically the more fragile the momentum. Larger cap stocks can come back after major sma bounces but micro caps won't usually because their movement is more hype/news/pump based usually. EGO a microcap you can take off a 10 sma/8 ema and get a big move, but a large/megacap you want more pullback and digestion, more like 50 sma or 20 sma with some higher lows on the d1 into a compression then a pop

Hi Daniel! When waiting for confirmation using the AVWAP of the previous day as foothold. Do you place the AVWAP on the previous day before the breakout. Can you explain the idea behind this to understand the context of using this specific AVWAP? Also, we should update the AVWAP to the previous day of the day we are trading or we leave it placed before the breakout?
@danielschultz28072 ай бұрын
yes, because if you're picking the right d1 chart you're essentially trading the breakout from a compression albeit sometimes a loose one. once all the bid has been sequentially tested it appears there's no more liquidity in that range to soak up and thus a breakout is required
@danielschultz28072 ай бұрын
so for example, i wouldn't trust a chart like TTD currently until the price revisits the 118 area, bounces, then breaks the downsloping trendline from the high of the day

Hi Daniel. Can you explain better when you speak about the footholds? It’s a touch/support on AVWAP? Thanks again 🙂
@danielschultz28072 ай бұрын
retests of avwaps and levels as support after breaking them. the price runs through it, but then returns back and bounces off it. That = foothold. Pull up a chart and lay down all the avwaps and see how price is almost always forced to return to a broken level to recheck it. I don't know for sure but this is likely how the automated programs can tell that there's no more liquidity left in an area and it's time to breakout to find more liquidity to fill orders

@danielschultz28073 ай бұрын
7/8 is higher at the current location. the idea is to see where the absolute highest level is where the average long from the previous bull run is now definitely in profits. you'll find that picking the highest avwap usually lines up better with any H- algo anyways. Zoom out even further and find the higher AVWAP possible on the entire historical chart :) The goal is to find the inflection point where on average longer term, shorts start covering which means longs accumulating positions start having to chase the price to get filled
