Loved those electromechanical arcade games! The game room at the Contemporary Resort Hotel had a whole room full of them back in the early 70's. And they were always a big hit at the carnivals during summer vacation, Ocean City Boardwalk had all these great classic E/M arcade games too. Thanks for showing them some love my friend!

I now have two of these Genco uprights.. Jumping Jacks and Golden Nugget. The first thing I learned is that the selenium rectifier should be replaced immediately with a full wave bridge rectifier. As they fail the forward resistance goes up and they put out less voltage until they fail altogether. These were actual gambling games used when they were new. The "Flipper" which for the most part is useless, was put there so the game had a level of "Skill". As a skill game it was able to skirt around some of the "game of chance" rules that prohibited gambling. There is a knock off button which is also an indication of it's being a gambling device. So with credits on the game you would go up to the bartender and he would note how many games you had, hit the knock off button and then reimburse you for the credits. Of course all of this would be on the sly. The balls were big glass marbles. and another interesting tidbit Genco is after the owners Gensburg and it is pronounced with a G as in Game, not a G as in a J..

Question please, I have a Bally ABC Tournament bowler which for the most part is working good with the exception of scoring a strike. No matter how you roll the ball you never can get a strike. All pins will come up when you roll at individual pins but will never score a strike when you hit the sweet spot between the 1 and 3 pins or the 1 and 2 pins. My question is do you think the problem is to do with the leaf contacts that the ball rolls over under the play field, or the above mechanics where the pins flip up? I did use a burnishing tool to clean the leaf contacts under the play field already but that did not help. Thanks so much for any advice in advance..!

I purchased a 1966 / 1 year older than your pitch and bat bullseye game / but being only 1 year off a lot of the stuff for how the game works, "seems," similar to what you explained, about the functions . No I don't get the middle ramp that raises temporarily ( wish I did) . I just brought mine home yesterday Dec 03 2022 Was told I'll have to get it working and for sure 1 bad coil. It's my first chicago coin game. Including gas I spent five hundred. Round trip,a little less than 400 miles. Now I got tv baseball chicago coin. Even if I "can't," get it working. I guess I'll get my fun out of it as a puzzle trying to figure it out.

Beautiful plane. Mr. Copeland is a fantastic pilot. I use to fly R/C pattern years ago at the Lincoln Sky knights pattern contests. I remember Dean from there. I have been flying old timers with old ignition engines for the past 15 years. A Playboy with a Super Cyclone, and a Lanzo Bomber scaled down to 60" with an Ohlsson 23. A much more relaxing way to fly than pattern competition. Gasoline has been much less expensive in the past than glow fuel, and only takes half as much, but things are changing rapidly. Gas is going up by the week. I usually use stove fuel or white gas.

Hey Jim! Thanks for the comments! It's a good flying plane! Now, Tom Egbert owns it and flies it when we have old timer events!

Any idea what was the first flipper pinball to have automatic ball lift? I know Gottlieb invented it in 1935 and had it as an option for their Cyclone pinball machine, and Bally had it as early as 1951 in their bingo machines.

Nice to see another one , I’ve owned our Dixieland pinball for about 35 years , replaced the rubbers twice , bulbs etc , works 100%! But like yours the back glass art is heat cracked , crazed etc, at one time I had a phone number of a guy that had made an exact duplicate nylon decal that fits perfectly on the glass , needed to scrape of old paint , but lost his phone number :(. Love these old pins!!

Hi Joe! What an excellent Gyrace! We got one (back in the day), and it performed exactly as described, with controllable stability and modest aerobatics. Then we rolled our own using a DH Beaver fuse with a pair of 2-blade Aerobalsa teetering rotors using PPR . This flew really well on almost no power. May I ask how you set your Aerobalsa blade pitch on yours? Ours were about a degree positive, iirc. Ben

Hello Do you rebuild machines for other people? I have a 67 Bootles Beat Time that will score wrong & just end a game out of know where. I have tried & so has the guy I bought it from with no luck. I would like to see what the cost would be to get it 100% working again. I do not wish to have the looks restored as we like the shape its in. Have a great day. Patrick
