wow, this is amazing! I never understood how artists are making those cool dirty looking sketches... I learnt anatomy and structure by books and always wondered why I'm spending so much time to mark a simple pose, measuring all those head units and proportions... I've seen other artists training by marking poses with those "lines of action", but its not really capturing the pose. While your approach with super fast dropping volumes and bulks without any structure... It's really challenging, but at least I finally know how to train and get faster! And progress after doing dozen of such gestures is really substantial! I feel like I wasted a year trying to learn from books. Thanks a lot, man! ❤👍

Erm...(know-it-all finger in the air, setting down my hot pocket with the other) If you use diagonal vanishing points, or even one d.v.p., you can make a square cube. I was practicing cubes and reading out of Vanishing Point: Perspective For Comics From The Ground Up. It gets tricky at the bottom of the page, where it came out elongated. I just went an inch up to make another cube, by miracle got it right, and then projected that line as a main construction line up and down the page. (Picking hot pocket back up, going to Reddit to know-it-all someone else, because that's what Reddit is apparently for). End Rant.

I think everyone has felt stagnant at some point. Just push through and keep practicing. Try different approaches from different teachers. One will surely unlock something or inspire you in a way that will push you forward!

Yeah it is brutal fast. I have to say once in a while I get one I really like at a fast speed of 1 min or under.

what pencil do you use?
@jorvicsalazar79058 ай бұрын
I use a black primacolor col erase but I haven't been able to find any in the last few years and I just ran out of my stash. I might have to start using a regular pencil or just draw in dark blue.
