I cant seem to get the graphite to cling to the clear coat after drying. I get a slight tint, but not real coverage. Is there a certain time frame after spraying i should apply the graphite before it cures?
@CollectorExpress6 күн бұрын
@ZeroProko I recently ran into a similar issue with a different clear coat than my usual one. I usually use Duplicolor automotive clear coat with works perfectly with the Graphite Powder, but I recently use a Mr Hobby water-based clear, which is very smooth and slick and the powder wouldn't adhere to it at all. What kind of clear are you using?

@@CollectorExpress I used the rustoleum gloss white and black and on both once it dried to the touch the graphite didnt want to stick

I have a question, I keep running into issues doing this. Let’s say I want to add shinyness to a figure like the 2099 figure you did, do I have to add Gloss Coat to it before or after I apply the powder?
@CollectorExpress7 күн бұрын
You should apply the gloss coat before you apply the powder.

When I use the marker it always rubs off pretty easy. Any tips for that?
@CollectorExpress11 күн бұрын
I sealed the marker with starting with very light coats of Mr Hobby matt clear coat, so light that it's just a mist. You need to start lightly, or the marker will run.
@goldfalcon374511 күн бұрын
@ ok. How is the mr hobby stuff in general. I recently had to restart a custom because of chipping. I used good paint (I didn’t use primer and I sealed it with modge podge.) this next time I plan to seel it with Mr hobby spray.

Do you need to clear coat it after applying the powder? Will it rub off without it?
@CollectorExpress15 күн бұрын
Unfortunately, if you apply a sealer, it will lose the chrome-like finish. But it's fairly durable and doesn't rub off easily. It will dull down after excessive handling, but you can always just repolish it if that happens.

Can you dry brush an already painted part? I watched your videos when you were building that Prime figure, and that song is stuck in my head forever! Lol! I find myself humming it from time to time when I work!

3:47 I guess that aspect works best if you have his arm cocked back for a superman punch, or both up/back like he's about to smash the ground. Nice comparisons after 7:14. I thought including one of the KO Hulks would've been amongst those shown to compare/contrast. What parts were those KO Hulks taking from?

Thank you for clarifying that there is no reuse with the Endgame BAF. I’ve been telling people since this figure was revealed that it’s a new sculpt. Totally agree with all the points you made, this is basically a decent Hulk figure but looks nothing like what we’ve seen in the trailers. Great review!!

Why are the upper thigh hole filled in? Never mind, it's tape. Why do.yiu do that to keep paint out of the connection?
@CollectorExpress27 күн бұрын
Exactly, you don't want to get paint on either the pegs or the sockets. If you paint them, it can cause the joints to seize up like they are glued.
@therealunclassified27 күн бұрын
@CollectorExpress thays what figured why you did that. At first I thought you filed them I was like why? Are there magnets in there, haha . Then seen the tape.

It's 1977, I'm 4 years old. I remember watching mine melt and burn in our wood stove. I guess my mom decided that I no longer played with it, so into the fire it went. I'm 51 now and this memory is crystal clear still to this day.

How is your green stuff so pliable and not sticking to your hand and everything like your metal tools? What's that blue stuff in the can?
@CollectorExpressАй бұрын
The key is to use their green stuff sculpting vaseline. You dip your sculpting tools into it, and it doesn't stick to your tools. Without it, green stuff is very difficult to work with.
@therealunclassifiedАй бұрын
@CollectorExpress I never knew this, wow. It still adheres even with Vaseline?where do I get this? I joined your discord.

I used to use that brush cleaner until they changed the formula. What are your thoughts on using an acetone?
@CollectorExpressАй бұрын
Acetone will definitely work, but you'll need to be extra careful as not to use too much, as if it is left on too long it'll melt the plastic. Acetone is in the clear nail polish which is why it also works as a paint remover.
