What if the hinge is on the corner? Cuz those glasses is built smart so you can bend where you said. But most sunglasses have the hinge right where your placing the needle nose pliers. So where would you bend? On the hinge then? Or past it

Four years later, and this is speaks to me. My designer collection was insane. I’ve slimmed my collection down to six Ray Bans. Now with my favorite cheap brand, Goodr, I’ve given myself permission to have a bigger collection since they are $25-$35 a pair and their polarized lenses are just as good if not better than Maui Jim. I wear them to be active and any motivation to be healthy is good motivation.

I've never tried it, I don't think it would. It has something to do with the plastic expanding if it's to work with this method, so I'm thinking it wouldn't have any effect on the metal

hi! :) not sure what you mean by the original, the episode I took this one from and made it inspired by was the half granny square one. In the pilot I know there is another red one with a different texture, you might be referring to that one.

I am not sure how the current folding Wayfarers hold up but i jusr retired a pair of folding Wayfarers i bought in the beginning of the 1990's. These were used up until last week when i ended up getting a new pair of regular 50mm Wayfarers for a good price. The were nothing wrong with the old pair. I just wanted a new pair. The old pair was by Bausch and Lomb and made in France. It uses plastic hinges but all have held up. A few years ago, i stopped folding them and just treated them as fixed ( non folding) sunglasses and put them in another case.

Hi!! Actually I wouldn’t do that with those BUT I can tell you what recently helped me with these glasses more than anything is using a qtip with extra light tasting ( lol because it’s clearer) olive oil where the lenses meet the frame. I just rubbed it around circularly, with just a little oil on the qtip, and then just let them sit, wipe off any excess or wash them with gentle dish soap and it has kept the creaking away on my Jackie ohh.

Hi Kristen. Are these any wider than the regular 2140? I imagine they are because of the 52mm lenses? The 50mm look small on me and the temples curve outwards. The 54mm look way too big on me as well.

Hi! Yes I would say they are a *little* wider, but not loose, like the 54 almost always are unless you have a really wide head/face. The good thing is the 52mm alternative fit seems to have more consistent manufacturing so all the pairs/ colors I’ve tried of them has been nearly the same. Hope that helps!

If you wonder why the original Jackie's are bit heavier than the new Jackie ii, it's because the original ones have glass lens. The new ones are plastic.

I know exactly which one you’re talking about. I’ve been working on that one for several years, the hard part is, I cannot find a way to reverse engineer a screen accurate version except for from top down, and can’t get the numbers right, or the decreases along the sides because the shells are so huge. Maybe someday. Thanks for the comment!
