..they'de been playing live shows since 73 but surprisingly relatively little footage out there which is such a shame because they were a really good live band, they were.

I have a sbd show from Zaffy's in 1979. There's a song called "I can wait" on there that is great. It's not on any other bootlegs I have. Zaffy's is the bowling alley.
@k2cobra684Ай бұрын
Never heard of that one or at least I can't remember it. Googled it...the only thing that comes up is a live recording from '79 on KZbin. It is a great song, but I guess they never recorded it??

Used to see them at the Mad Hatter of Stonybrook, Speaks, Hammerheads...usually places close to home. Saw them with Kenny Neil on bass, best bass player I ever saw. I remember when Tony Petri left the band it was (and still is) shrouded in mystery, just saying.

Yeah, Ace was pretty disappointing for sure, but for $35 and bands all day long it was a pretty good deal considering all the outrageous ticket prices these days. There was a Billy Joel tribute band on before Ace that was really good and worth the $35 alone.

Ace sucks. Its painful to watch. Went to see him at a free concert in Kokomo Indiana a few weeks ago and left after about 5 or 6 songs. He needed help walking to the stage, he forgets half the lyrics to the songs and cant even remember the names of his band mates. He tries selling cheap silkscreened shirts for $50 and wears a God awful wig. He's a gimic and resting on his laurels. He's the perfect example of someone who has swindled his life away. If you look at his net worth he's barely worth $1 million dollars while Gene is worth well over $400 million. I grew up idolizing Ace but the guy is pretty much a loser and quite frankly he's a degenerate.

Ace is 72 years old and has led an incredible but hard life in the rock and roll business. People get old and lose a lot of muscle memory, and motor skills. Ace totally kicked ass back in the 70's with Kiss. He's just an old man now, still performing and having a good time. Give him a break unless you're making multi-platinum recordings and touring the world 10 times over.....CHAMP!
