Not beasts. Hand made motorcycles with good roadholding and excellent brakes for the time. Top speed of110, maybe 120. Their beauty was to cruise at 80 all day, purring like a cat. I always found anything over 80 was uncomfortable unless you had a fairing or laid on the gas tank. The unique Rollie Free achieved 150 on a specially prepared model, lying flat on the machine after shaving his hair off, having a bathing cap painted on his head and wearing swimming trunks and sandshoes to comply with the protective head, clothing and footwear rules. Superb machines, now objects of investment and speculation.

is that a rocket stove made out of a huge turbo???? if it is, its ingenious... please tell me you have a video about the stove?????????? very very well regards guys
@PhilUys26 күн бұрын
No, it is not a rocket stove but works more like a wood stove. Front load for wood or charcoal with good air regulation. The chimney can take a metal grid to boil water or even make a potjie from the heat escaping. The other nice thing is that it is cast iron and holds plenty of heat for heating purposes when out camping. It is also not a big turbo although it looks like one. It is an AIR BOLWER similar to a water pump. The innards have been removed. I added the steel door on the front and the air regulation slide at the bottom. It looks cool and works really well. I named it ' The Black Mamba'

An interesting fact about those birds. They are very recent in our province. They have migrated some 1700km south. The beast will chase them back north again.

I know how legendary this bike is (my father had one many years ago), and that the quality and riding experience is the most important here, but just out of curiosity... What is the fuel consumption? I mean... It's an old-fashion big engine, with a (deliciously) very low rev... I want to have an idea of how it compares with modern bikes. Greetings from Brazil! 🇧🇷

Lovely roads, all clean and tidy, nary a pot hole in sight. Where this beautiful beast came from, sad to say, your looking out for potholes more than watching the traffic, and the traffic is horrendous. You have a bit of British engineering from a time when Britain could be proud, it is irreplaceable as Britain has now lost it's way.
@PhilUysАй бұрын
We are lucky in this part of South Africa the roads and countryside are pretty neat. Bought the Vincent thirty years ago, restored it twenty eight years ago and it has stood the test of time ever since. Sorry too hear Britain has lost its way. I have noticed over the last decade some bad news about the state of some smaller towns and the financial struggles of some older folk. Those problems tend to presist.

Fookin beautiful Vincent Phil! Sounds awesome! Series C Rapide. Standard except for Mikunis or motor to Shadow specs too? One of your older vids the Vincent got up to 100mph easily. Would love to ride with you one day but my old R50/2 won't keep up, even with you just cruising! My Katana SXZ a lot newer (1982), but at least I'll keep up! Cheers.

Besides the Mikuni cards the bike is pretty standard. Not sure what the Shadow specs are but I have installed Lightning cams. Also my electronic ignition supplies the sparks to the spark plugs. The compression is very low only 7.6 to 1. It all works well together.
